Here's the int from the underbelly of veterans network (based on comparison of VIP claims with anniversary dates in Jan 2013). It's the ol' use it or loose it approach. You will be paid biannually based on what you used in 2012. If it did not snow in your region and you failed to claim...
Hey Riflemen,
The rules have changed for still serving members as it now completely falls under CF responsibility. The still serving soldiers are not permitted to get VIP services from VAC whatsoever, they must go to their GDMO for assessment and if approved it's then administered under a...
Do up your chin straps troops, this might be another battle. Remember this was advertised as "cutting the red tap." They apparently even built a software tool for these specific anniversary's. Veterans with anniversary dates in Jan 2013 already effected and rumour has it, it isn't going well...
For those released veterans with VIP (the red tape is not been cut as advertized). When your anniversary date comes up (date provided in your letter in Jan 2013) you will go through another reassessment with VAC and sounds like the results are not favourable to us (most cases - surprised?)
If...
Nice work Dano. Just a few questions, did you file for Disability Tax Credit (T2201) with CRA? That might soften the hit on taxes. To answer your question about taxes, it won't be the CFSA that states that, it is CRA and the answer is "at source" meaning as soon as you receive it. Not sure...
If you think it's bad now, wait til they lay off the >600 employees that do all that work. Work Force Adjustment just cleaned out >200 on this round 2 weeks ago (Affected employees will be gone by 2015). It's not like the work went away. Ever wonder why some people are waiting or not getting...
All very good advise. You should ask as client service rep at your local IPSC, everything you need outside of medical care is located there. FYI, you can expedite a medical release, you just have to let them know.
Anyone have int on this? Just read about it in Legion Mag, they are really pushing it (I guess since they are funding it). Seems like they (RCL) are trying to get into the MH game a little late, since DND has OTSSC and VAC has OSI Clinics, they don't stand much of a chance getting anymore...
NDI 75 is from DND and so far has done nothing for me except take up room in my wallet. I can't agree that this is a veteran card because it does not follow the criteria of veteran (agree with the definition or not). Maybe the definition needs to change first then the card. I think you can...
FYI - T Shirts supporting the cause are available and proceeds go directly to the cause. You can advertise what's going on and support it. Bought one in Petawawa last week from a friend that bought a bundle of them. Cost was approx $25.00 each and had various colours.
I believe you are referring to the IPSC Support Platoon which is the military component there to maintain control and discipline as if you were in any other unit. Troops posed to IPSC's are expected to go on RTW within MEL's and from what I've seen, can be just about anything under the sun. ...
OK, I suppose some Federal departments might be working with prisoners, mh issues and other reasons for security but Veteran Affairs Canada? Is the presumption that we all have mh issues that have proven to be threatening to VAC employees? I just think this is something from the old VAC days...
Does anyone know the reason/history of this? There is no other federal department in Canada that has this. This appears as a barrier to protect the employee from veterans. I hope that is not the answer, since you can get the same service at Service Canada and not have that glass barrier as...
