    Liberal Minority Government 2025 - ???

Minimally, access to the South that's less seasonal and not dependent on what I understand to be a fairly limited road and rail network for all of the communities along that coast wouldn't hurt, and might make extraction (and local processing) of whatever resources are there feasible.

    Liberal Minority Government 2025 - ???

For Hudson Bay? Neighbouring provinces and territories who could theoretically do something with improved ocean access.

    Liberal Minority Government 2025 - ???

I think at least Ontario and Manitoba have governments that're switched on enough, in their own ways, to make something of it. Less sure of Québec and Nunavut. A twinned line might be sellable.

Indirect Fires Modernization Project - C3/M777 Replacement

Knocking on from that (expiring stocks, a need to keep lines ticking over above the "it's dried out and seized" threshold, keeping factory hands trained, etc) is perhaps having enough training rounds to allow routine firing of all systems by operational and training units who will run out of...

All Things Red Poppy Merged Thread (sales, copyright, usage, bans/restrictions, etc.)

Although the whole Remembrance evolution in the UK has become a bit overwrought and silly.

RUMINT of Canada wanting more C-17's

Optimistic long-term question: is there anything in Antonov's catalogue that would be of interest?

Canada moves to 2% GDP end of FY25/26 - PMMC

Dual use is definitely possible, and Comox proves it can be done with a busy, multi-mission wing and a reasonably active airport.

USS LST-510 - Wikipedia Then there's this fine vessel.

    She's a silent indictment of BCF's practices.

    Army Reserve Restructuring

Good start would be overhauling the cadet training syllabus, then funding it properly. Lots of great stuff on paper that doesn't happen, or only happens in certain locations, because the resources either entirely aren't there or are fundraised for locally.

    Canada's tanks

Not the first foggiest, except with a floor of "more than Ukraine had."

    Canada's tanks

Probably missing something: however, wouldn't a tank force be something with which to, handled appropriately and with suitable joint support, maul an invader while things are still somewhat fluid? Avoid getting to the current Ukrainian situation in the first place.

    New Canadian Shipbuilding Strategy

Could be worse. Imagine if one of the War of 1812 RN ships had survived and remained in naval service, inherited by the new RCN and kept in service as a flex on Constitution and, even more so, Victory.

    Maritime Coastal Defence Vessels (MCDVs)

Bet the only real fix for that is having trots of the things. Would a YAG-ier profile; longer and lower, with (assuming the same capacity) the galley and classroom space dropped into the hull (which would, incidentally, probably make things more flexible for other uses) likely handle better?

Indirect Fires Modernization Project - C3/M777 Replacement

General question: how robust is that RWS, and does the driver have any sort of visibility up there? Looks like it's just asking to get smacked into a branch.

    Updated Army Service Dress project

That works too. Minimally, replacing the skirt (horribly cut, auth for all but entirely femme) with the kilt (fits basically everyone, more or less universal) would be a great service to everyone who wants to wear something other than trousers.

    Updated Army Service Dress project

For the sake of pot-stirring, replacing the skirt with a kilt as a member's discretion No. 1/2/3 item would be a very tidy way of canning gender questions.
