The Great Gun Control Debate- 2.0

All guns are deadly. For a number of years in the US, the most 'deadly' caliber - the one which caused the most deaths, was actually .22 LR. I think that has now been surpassed by 9mm. That said, a focus on the caliber, or the type really loses focus on the actual cause of things. A car...

    Canadian River Class Destroyer Megathread

Question - were we smart enough to put the spare parts/storage/warehouse facility for AEGIS spares and parts over there, or are is the RCN going to try and manage those (potentially special handling required) parts through the regular supply chain. I may have asked this question a couple of...

RCN Command Chief now has a 3.5 foot model of HMCS MacKenzie to get home to Ottawa with. :-) Let CRCN be jealous. :-)

The Great Gun Control Debate- 2.0

Not registering has zero implication except for a lack of payment options under the 'buyback'. At least until 31 Oct when the Amnesty runs out. If you don't register, you can't be part of the buyback. That's it. If you don't do anything with things you may own that have become prohibited...

The Great Gun Control Debate- 2.0

The attached images are quite pertinent. There is an amnesty in place until 31 Oct. It is legal IAW Section 106(1) to destroy your firearm so long as you 'with reasonable dispatch' report the destruction to a peace officer, firearms officer, or chief firearms officer. I will not speak for...

The RCAF's Next Generation Fighter (CF-188 Replacement)

Yeah....it's a little on the outside of what reality is. I mean, it's only been 55 years since we had a carrier....and....where would we sent our sailors to relearn how to do that? It's actually been over 60 years since we had a carrier borne fighter capability.

Nope...I've given it some thought and am reaching across to the RCN Command Chief's EA to set up a meeting at 3 Mess with the RCN Comd Chief...I think he's gonna like what he gets from the meeting.... :-) Everyone always gives nice things to the Officers...maybe a Chief should get something...

Dude, printing an extra set of VLS modules is easy, there's space on the missile deck to glue' em on....and adding extra NSM's is simple too. I could melt them out over the weekend and glue it all together on Monday....don't tempt me with a good time! (LOL!)

Hoisted a flag (ok, it's glued in place...whatever....) and am calling V2 complete. Here we have DDH 241 - HMCS MacKenzie The next one will be the first of the R/C version - we'll see how it goes. I'm quite pleased with how this is looking. I understand that this is closer to the 'actual'...

Canada moves to 2% GDP end of FY25/26 - PMMC

The key with getting 'new' helicopters will be to get them used from somewhere else than our southern neighbour. Y'know, like maybe buying the airframes that the US left behind in Afghanistan? Then we do an 'upgrade' to them? Or, maybe buy used SH-60s from Australia and refurbish them...

    New Canadian Shipbuilding Strategy

There are anecdotes about Flower Class Corvettes proceeding from the building slips in Canada to the UK with their first convoy, and only receiving their main armament once they arrived in the UK. Light weapons - sure, but no deck gun....

Honestly....I'm hoping to take work from whomever the 'pro' modeller is that's building ship models for the Navy....we'll see how that works out.
