Canadian River Class Destroyer Megathread

Dude, printing an extra set of VLS modules is easy, there's space on the missile deck to glue' em on....and adding extra NSM's is simple too. I could melt them out over the weekend and glue it all together on Monday....don't tempt me with a good time! (LOL!)
While you're at it, cut the house along the deck line so you can lift it off. Inside, build an ops room that has nothing but CMS330 consoles and only two Aegis consoles off to the side... You know.. as another hint ;)

Nope...I've given it some thought and am reaching across to the RCN Command Chief's EA to set up a meeting at 3 Mess with the RCN Comd Chief...I think he's gonna like what he gets from the meeting.... :-) Everyone always gives nice things to the Officers...maybe a Chief should get something nice too.
:)

2022 we gave the outgoing Command Chief a shell casing with a 3d printed shell in it. It had the date of his first day at sea and the date of his last day at sea engraved on it (which was the sail with us). As he was WENG TECH of some flavour originally the CSE Dept of course did all the work for that.

Interestingly Gen Eyre experienced his first day ever at sea on that trip as he could finally visit a ship without breaking isolation (it was post COVID).

Question - does the building of this new test facility in anyway strengthen the current framework for acquiring 15 Rivers or does it have no bearing whatsoever if we build only the first 3 or 9 or all 15? If we were to shoot ourselves in the foot and stop after 3 and then build these talked about CDC's, would there still be the need for this test facility for only 3 Rivers or could another approach be taken and deliver the same results?

Canada backs River-class destroyer project with new land-based test facility

To help bring the Royal Canadian Navy’s (RCN) new River-class destroyer into service and support them throughout their lifecycle, the Department of National Defence (DND) is building a land-based test facility (LBTF) on DND property at Hartlen Point in Eastern Passage, Nova Scotia

Yes, we would still need it. Plus, it's bought and paid for already.

Question - were we smart enough to put the spare parts/storage/warehouse facility for AEGIS spares and parts over there, or are is the RCN going to try and manage those (potentially special handling required) parts through the regular supply chain.

I may have asked this question a couple of times before in formal settings so hopefully it's been considered.

So right now the plan is to tear down D206 and reestablish a much larger and more secure Naval Depot out near Shearwater/Woodside. It will come with a fuel farm, and fueling jetty.

In D206s place will be a new structure of Clothing stores, returns and FIC.
