    Canadian River Class Destroyer Megathread

I may have referenced the project's website for some pictures and done some 3D design of my own. Are we still looking at SeaCeptors? How about Harpoon vs NSM? 24 cells for the VLS? ;-) Details.... I might have printed both a SH-60 and a Cyclone...just...hedging my bets.

That's getting there....needs another coat on the decks, but that's a good start.

    Trump Class Battleships?

Here's a bit of a reasonable take on the 'battleship' concept.

    Vickers Gun

Which is why, when the time comes to give it to the Reserve Unit, I'm going to be presenting it to the guy in the unit who is actually a police officer....let him figure out that legalese....LOL

    Vickers Gun

Yes, that is a concern of mine as well which is why it was printed at work not at home.

    Vickers Gun

Day job is at TEME now. :-) Bring me your busted optics please. Cost? About 200 or so for materials, threaded inserts, screws, putty, etc.

    Trump Class Battleships?

Meh, Canada operated our TRUMPs for years before retiring them a while ago.

    Vickers Gun

People get really worried when you talk about 3D printed guns....here's a really good use for a 3D printed gun. Local Reserve Unit has a historical Vickers gun that they had displayed in unit lines, which had to be secured due to break in attempts. They will be receiving this replacement 3D...

    Canadian River Class Destroyer Megathread

Question - does anyone know what the hull numbers are going to be for the Rivers? I've been scouring images to figure it out, but no luck. Any ideas? NS

The Great Gun Control Debate- 2.0

What they're really doing is they're strangling the manufacturers and dealers. That's the thing which will, in the end, kill the sport.

    Canadian River Class Destroyer Megathread

My Type 26 is progressing well. Needs more sanding, more painting, more sanding...but she's getting there. I've got a V2 of the print files heading to the printer as I've had a request for one in the CO's office down in Dockyard. We'll see if she can make people jealous!

    New Canadian Shipbuilding Strategy

I suggest that as Canadians, we should simply look back in history and bring back a form of Project Habakkuk. No foamies here.... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_Habakkuk Persistent presence enabled....

    New Canadian Shipbuilding Strategy

Admittedly, I did ask a rep from the Class Desk a few years ago about rebuilding some of the Halifax Class from the keel up using the original blueprints....kind of like the LAV6 upgrade - take the data plate and build a 'replacement' ship around it. He indicated that the current specs would...

    New Canadian Shipbuilding Strategy

The first level of the force continuum is a visible armed presence. The Halifax Class self-divesting as they age out is likely going to reduce our ability to provide a visible armed presence. The AOPS is most definitely not a visible armed presence. Getting some gray ships with guns and...

Time to dust off the OHP design, tidy it up a bit, swap the swing-arm launcher for a VLS and have a go at fresh production lines?

    CH-124 Sea King Historical Thread

No, I think the solution is to restore a Maritime Air Component Cell from 1 CAD back in Halifax - with both experts in fixed wing and rotary present. A small group..?..who can walk into the Maritime Warfare Center and explain to the NWOs what their aviation support can do, and how it's supposed...

The Great Gun Control Debate- 2.0

I live right on a lake...a much greater likelihood of boating accidents up my way....I sold the big boat (18' jet) and am down to the sailboat and canoe...both of which are much more...tippy...
