Well, no there isn't a way of getting out of it, but it isn't from very high. They actually want you to go in 'not perfectly' because when you fall out of a boat, you're going to be disoriented and it isn't going to be perfect. Don't worry you'll be fine. Oh and PS you won't be diving head...

Well, unfortunately the instructions on my mukluks do not make sense and seemingly not all of my kit came with name tags on them. I'm preparing for my first few weekends outside and really don't want to end up frozen from doing something simple wrong, so here goes... How do you put the mukluks...

Depending on the weekend's training things will be different. If you are on BMQ you most likely will not be kicked off. For this specific BMQ they told us that this weekend can be made up, and we are basically bringing everything we were issued to the next weekend. If you have any questions PM me.

Even if it is practical..it costs WAY TOO MUCH, I practiced with a book that was $20, aptitude testing book from Indigo and I did perfectly fine. There's no reason you need to waste 98$. Plus, if you're in the field and haven't practiced your math skills in a bit, does that mean you're going to...

I thought that 'pre-SQ' was now the last bit of the last weekend in BMQ, SQ is definitely 3 weeks long.

Not only did we do the swim test but after some of our platoon was allowed to go off the Olympic Board  ;D That was a hell of a time. And if you don't swim much make sure you get to a pool and practice or have lessons before you go for the test. Basically you jump from a 3m board w/ a life...

The to-be officers in my section just told me to cut what we don't use, but i'm not sure about the rain gear because the weather has been all screwy. If you have problems packing the ruck sack put your PT gear in under your sleeping bag, ditch the extra boots, cut everything as simple as...

Well, go through the chain of command and ask about it, because the BMQ in the area you're going to may start at a different time.

I'm just going to bring study notes for our five minute breaks on the weekend, don't plan to miss it though. But, we did get a nice three week break though  :)

Being female doesn't change much in PT, just make sure you practice at home. The females in my course (during running are not last, ever!) and I even have knee problems (patella fermol syndrome and jumper's knee in both knees) and I'm female and I haven't been behind at all, if you need a brace...

It's going great! Too bad we haven't had much of a chance to talk. I'm going to be studying for my exams over this weekend (which is the course weekend)...not too sure if it's such a good idea. This is the fourth weekend, have the swim test, yay, but we haven't gotten to first aid. TTYL

Anyway, getting back to the original post, what about reserves during the year when you are not taking a course (due to school or something like that)?
