When I was in 1 RCR, we had a MCpl who used to be in the USMC. He swore to anyone that would listen that he shot the first nuclear bullet and that it "took the top clear off that hill."
He was serious.
It seems stories like this one, only getread and passed on within our small community. It's a sad note about our society that this story isn't generally known.
The "dark times" are coming. 40 + soldiers on release in the next couple of months from Shilo. Reminds me of my youth when entire Battleschool platoons would clear in and then clear out 3 years later.
Agreed, never saw smoke gren carried there. I was never a C9 gunner, C2 only. When we wore 82 pat web gear, I wore 2 utility pouches. On one of them, I had a bayonet frog sewn on the side and wore my bayonet there.

Best option is to pick a job you like/ have an aptitude for. Picture yourself doing 25 yrs in that job. The reason, chances are you won't be selected for JTF2, so have a solid job plan.
