Also to add to that, a lot of class B (full time) positions have been cut. There's still work out there but it usually goes to trained troops, you wouldn't send a no-hook on something like that. Most reservists work full time in the summer and after your DP1/QL3 you might be able to get a short...
To be an Officer you need to have a university degree or be working towards one. Right now you're too young to join as an officer as you're still in high school. Though if you wanted you could probably join as an NCM then down the road get commissioned from the ranks.
Not going out this year, gonna be on DP2 :P but it's money so yay!
Though I am having a costume made by a professional (not for Halloween though just for fun) but it won't be ready until at least January (aiming to get it paid off before Christmas)....and set me back quite a fair amount of...
Good point, but still I like to separate NCM's and Officers. I guess I just usually looked at officers as always being higher up than me regardless of time in as even a 2Lt can still be a course officer.
I've got a bunch of my army friends on facebook ranging from people from my BMQ to people I work with in my unit, from Pte all the way up to WO and 2 Lt. I don't see it as any big deal. I respect peoples boundaries at work as far as rank goes but after work I'm not afraid to go out and have a...
Well since you're only 15 you can't even apply to join the reg force yet. Why not look into the reserves when you turn 16? You might be able to join an Infantry reserve unit depending on where you live and if there are spots open. No telling if reg force Infantry will open up by the time you're...
Everyone's biased for their own trade, so pick something that YOU would enjoy doing. Go down to the local reserve unit and have a look around on a parade night, talk to the soldiers and unit recruiter.
Though personally I suggest you go Armoured. After all, why carry your kit when your kit can...
Just brush up on your grade 10 math. Multiplying and dividing fractions, converting fractions to decimals, division and multiplication. It really isn't that hard. Do the practice tests and work on your math skills and you'll be good to go.
This might be helpful...
Why waste all that time enrolling you in an Artillery unit if you're just going to leave after BMQ and join the Navy? BMQ is the same across the board, the only difference is with the Army reserve you can do it on weekends (or full-time in the summer depending on where you are) If you want to...
ModlrMike already told you why the reserves could be called up for. I believe the last time the reserves were called up by an act of parliament was in WWII.
The link above tells you everything you need to know about the CFAT. What do you need help with? Work on your grade 10 math, read a good book to improve your vocabulary and show up on the day of the test well rested.
