No matter how small or low powered, all electronic kit emits radiation and an enemy who has good EW assets can track you via those emissions. It's bad enough that my truck has a huge electronic "signature" I don't really need one coming from my helmet/vest. You would be surprised at what EW can...
I work in a truck filled with all the newest and coolest electronics we own and it often fails to work as advertised. Now how well can I trust those electronics to identify me to my buddy in the dark and confusion of a night action? Think I prefer the KISS principle thanks.
Is ACSS still at CFB Cold Lake? I attended the course in Athabaska Ab in the 80's then they shut down the camp and set up shop in Cold lake. I was an instructor there during it's first year.
Makes me wonder if we do a deep enough background check on our applicants. I know CSIS is busy as hell with the security clearances we submit but this is scary!
Could'nt tell ya how long it would take but Yes the reg force are looking for sig -ops. Maybe somebody with a recruiting unit could answer the time question.
Think I was at the same event Scott. Was very impressed with the "kids". My wife (also in the forces) and I were discussing how un-supported kit-wise they are. Seems to us that all of those greens we turned in could be used by them... not to mention our used Mk IIIs. :salute:
From what you have said it sounds like your son is being re-coursed for illness. If this is the case then you and he should have no worries. He will just have to stick around St. Jean until he is healthy and then he will join another platoon. I cant tell you if he will have to start at week 1...
What is with you calling everybodys intellegence into question today? Are you a staunch liberal whos pi*sed because the big boss is looking bad in the polls or did your neighbor get up and relieve himself in your cornflakes this morning?
