They could use "any other similar instrument to which Canada is a part".
Yet they are having a hard time recruiting to full strength.
When the Cadet program has more members then the Reserves, Scouts Canada has more members then our Reserve Force does.
I actually don't want to see this. But...
I went through this in the late 90's then again in early 2000's. Times were much different and some attitudes were even more so.
I witnessed many acts of discrimination, sexism and the whole gauntlet of what SHARP was trying to eliminate. But it made things worse, the actual bad people went...
Second to "Emergency" is "or if considered desirable in consequence of any action undertaken by Canada under the United Nations Charter or the North Atlantic Treaty, the North American Aerospace Defence Command Agreement or any other similar instrument to which Canada is a part".
Could Canada...
Depends on the way it was approached to them I guess. Direct response to natural disasters, maybe have local resources to respond to floods and such. Might be attractive if a province could become sovereign and directly collect and use their own taxes to pay for their own resources/ services...
Why would it not be?
How did they incorporate the Coast Guard into DND? They used a OIC.
Since the Milita act was absorbed into the NDA. I wonder if a province could stand up their own Defence Force? If not then what would stop a province form standing up a Security Force and arming them...
16 1(c) in the NDA might allow a stretch to be done.
We might need a revamp of the Militia Act of 1868
But they just included the Coast Guard into the mix, how long until BC Ferries is included? 😅
Depends on what you would consider a replacement crew. Basic Training through to operating a tank.
Then if you were to look at the full manufacturing capacity of Canadian industry, I think you are selling them short.
Anything built for the Canadian Government has a higher cost, history has shown they will cost overrun, delay and cancel projects as they get going. For a supplier to tool up, manufacture they need a definite assurance their investment wont be negated by project cancellation or interference...
yup and Canada has a pretty decent setup for that also. But they still use multiple inputs to verify data, including surface, sub surface and air assets.
Then I guess we can eliminate the SPY series radars for BMD and just rely on satellite services across the board. Yaaa problem solved.
The majority of the Alaskan population is in the SSW corner, Not sure what their population has to do with this discussion.
A current or expanding trade partner.
They have made it very clear that they will violate anyone's sovereignty as they see fit. It is not the point.
Unless they want to set up their own radar stations for early warning on our territory they have to form some kind of agreement with us. If not then we can deal with it at the time.
There should be no reason for the Regular Force to require Reservists to augment any of the current sized operations. The fact that they require this is a sign that the Regular Force is severely unstaffed. This is not saying a fully staffed Regular Force could not open 10-20% of their...
They stated a few years ago they would be interested in working with the Canadian Government in developing a medium to heavy lift aircraft domestically a few years ago. The Government wad not interested but might be in the near future.
Safe production away from the eastern front. A highly skilled workforce who can be part of future development of not only aircraft but multiple other systems. Similar reason reason why Korea is trying to get our support and buy their systems.
I doubt it, the US doesn't build diesel boats anymore.
If Germany was building the F35 we would not have been invited into the initial design /supply of some intricate systems for the F35, therefore would not even been on the radar for sales to us.
The first step they need to do is buy enough...
I am willing to bet more people are involved in some way shape or form in those hot topics of discussion then they are in Subs.
LOL, I think if you break down the options for what we need and the limited builders available along with timelines. There really is not much to say about it. All the...
If a company does not have a inside contact for a contract, direct lnks to the primary contractor/ contract manager or provide something specifically unique that no one else provides good luck getting a contract. (Or have deep pockets to buy into the system).Thats been my experience dealing with...
