    DND 404 - Driver's Licence ( merged )

In the past, I have seen people with a Learner's been granted their 404s. We actually had one member learn to drive G-Wagens, LAV IIIs and T-LAVs with his L and he managed to get his N decal before deploying.

And even more fun, you MUST qualify on every vehicle you plan on driving, even if it is a "lesser" vehicle than what you may hold quals for already. For example, if you are qualified on a LAV III you still have to take a course to drive the MILCOT (the green Silverado).

    DND 404 - Driver's Licence ( merged )

There's a provincial supplement that you have to do anytime you go to a new province (basically it makes sure you understand the province's driving regulations) and there is the Defensive Driver Course (DDC). That used to be all you needed to get 404s and be qualified on blue feet (sedans, crew...

Fmr MCpl Patrik Mathews - facing U.S. federal charges/alleged white supremacist

Here's a "great" commentary by Scott Taylor about Mathews. It contains such facts like "What we do know for sure is that Mathews joined the Canadian Army reserves eight years ago as a combat engineer" and follow up statements such as "Then there is the question of Mathews’ actual status in the...

Fmr MCpl Patrik Mathews - facing U.S. federal charges/alleged white supremacist

Years ago, a member of my regiment was allegedly caught with child pornography. From what I understand he had a very frank, honest and firm discussion with the RSM that suggested it would be in the member's best interest to voluntarily release before the civilian police had enough to charge him...

    Air Shows

A few years ago we had a B-17 spend a few days out our local airport and it did some runs above town. It was several hundred feet up (probably even over 1000ft) and still quite loud, but my favourite memory has to be heading to work morning, sitting at an intersection and seeing it flying low...

Daily wear - Work Dress vs Operational dress [Split from Sleeves up]

Except a kilt. It should be tight...you should feel uncomfortable. It's almost like a girdle/corset combo.

BC Murders / MB Manhunt of Kam McLeod and Bryer Schmegelsky

The bodies were confirmed to be the two, death by suicide and they had been dead for at least several days when they were found. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/bc-homicide-suspects-autopsy-update-1.5243741

BC Murders / MB Manhunt of Kam McLeod and Bryer Schmegelsky

I wonder if their deaths will be determined to be accidental or intentional...as from what I understand, they did leave behind some personal effects at the boat. Was it to lighten their load or to leave a hint that their corpses could be found nearby?

Daily wear - Work Dress vs Operational dress [Split from Sleeves up]

To echo PPCLI Guy, we do have surveys...many of them. In the past...six or seven years I have done at least as many CAF surveys on various topics, including at least one (if not two) on job satisfaction, morale, engagement, future prospects, etc.

BC Murders / MB Manhunt of Kam McLeod and Bryer Schmegelsky

The passenger trains were being searched, but I don't have any context as to how thoroughly...I just saw a few pictures in news articles.

Daily wear - Work Dress vs Operational dress [Split from Sleeves up]

I've noticed the oxfords over the last several years (since the introduction of the new sole and fleece insole) have also had a coating on them that holds a shine well, but once you actually walk in the shoe it starts to separate and peel off, taking your shine with it and the leather underneath...

    Sleeves up in Cadpat

I don't have a reference but I often see those with old-style tunics rolling their sleeves up come May. Unless the RSM says otherwise. In the field, that is a different story...sleeves down as the tunic is part of your PPE.
