Question regarding future ACS about getting civy wings.

do you not have to do a conversion at all?  I know if a CIC officer gets a civie glider ticket they need to be checked out on the Cadet gliders before they can wear those wings.

Question regarding future ACS about getting civy wings.

I knew there was something that had to be done.  They can't just go rent a plane from a club, nor do i think can they borrow a buddies plane if they want without doing those tests.  I did know that they can fly civie leased aircraft with a military license, just as you need a 404 to drive a...

what if u have a baby and want to be in the regular army?

My old man transfered fom Armd to AVN Tech when I was born and spent 10 years in Winnipeg, and he was almost always home (with the exception of a voluntary Tour to Haiti).  He was a single parent and it worked out fine.  If it's what you really want to do, no doubt you can make it happen.

    QL3 without SQ?

I know of a ranger transfering to PRes RMS clerk who did her QL3 before she even did BMQ.  She dosen't know yet if she has to do SQ, but she did do QL3 before doing BMQ.

Question regarding future ACS about getting civy wings.

In any case, a civie license and military license are completley different, a civie pilot obviously isn't licensed to fly any military planes, but a military pilot isn't licensed to fly any civie planes either, they would need to do a conversion.  Two totally seperate identities.

    Recommended Reading- Pilot

Hope this bit of info can help! Know the training (where, on what, how long, etc...).  Also know what a pilot in the CF does (flight safety officer, secondary duties, desk tours, etc...).  Know the aircraft the CF has, perhaps a few it recently lost, and those it may be and will be procuring. ...

    Military flying vs. Civilian flying

That makes me want to throw up a little.  As a pilot I would never get behing the yoke of a machine I wasn't completley sure would bring me down safely, and that means inspecting it myself.  It's just not worth putting lives in danger for.  Sometimes you take risks, but you make damn sure thet...

    Military flying vs. Civilian flying

I think, in at least some cases, the civie pilots take more risks because alot of times they are flying for a profit making company, and the military pilots are not.  I have head a story of a CO of a flying sqn, who was on both sides of the fence.  As a reservist, he flew for Air Canada at the...

    Colour Vision

my father is an AVN tech and has slight colorblindness.  as was said it deppends on what lever of colorblindness he has and what trade he wants to apply for.  I'm sure he would have no problem getting in assuming thats the only thing wrong, but it may not be a trade he is interessted in.

Pilotless drones eyed to replace CF-18s

i hear those UAVs need alot of maintaining because they beat themselves up on landing quite a bit.  I sure hope the fighters stay manned for a long time, that is what alot of young pilots aspire to be, and it does inspire alot of interest in flying.  a fighter pilot is, in a sense, to the pilot...

    17 Wing Question

i lived in the pmqs there for 10 years (88-98), and although i was never in them i know the barracks are nicknamed "the hotel" which is a good sign haha  ;).  The gym and pool were always really nice and there was a theatre in the same building, i think it still is.  I believe they closed "The...

    CF Basic Parachutist - Q&A

is it just me or do those numbers seem a little low?  not that i could breeze through it or anything, but i expected they would be higher.  although i would imagine that if you can only do the mins you would have a bit of trouble with the course.  not to mention by the end of it you could do...

From reserve inf. to Reg Armoured

Well I'm going to pretend that was a serious question haha. I just always thought about doing it, mostly because my dad did, and if i could, i'd go from res armoured to reg armoured but there's only infantry here.  not that i mind, cause so far(which isn't very far, i'm not even done BMQ) i...

How Soon After Enrollement Can You Be Deployed Overseas

Hello, I appologize in advance if this has been asked before, in which case a link would help alot as i for some reason could not find a good answer. What are the chances of a reserve Pte. who is only trade qualified (BMQ, SQ, and DP1) getting deployed on a UN tour?  And what kinds of...

    Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP)-RMC 2000 - 2018 [Merged]

Hello, I'm a Pte(r) right now with paperwork going through to hopefully be a pilot soon.  My experience, however limited, has taught me that there are plus sides to doing RMC or Civie U.  They say RMC grads get priority on promotion, which i don't know is true.  I do know however, that grads...

reserve infantry to reg force armoured

Years ago my dad was a tank commander on the lynx with LdSH and my uncle was in the sabre sqn.  This obviously makes me keen to be a Royal Canadian.  I live in NF and just started BMQ with the Royal Newfoundland Regiment to be infantry while i finish high school and i was wondering if i joined...

Here's something i've been pondering...     Years ago my dad was a tank commander on the lynx with LdSH and my uncle was in the sabre sqn.  This obviously makes me keen to also attempt to make it with the Royal Canadians.  I live in NF and just started BMQ with the Royal Newfoundland Regiment...
