For some guns its necessary to stand or sit on the trails. Example.....LG1, #3 sits on the trails when laying or firing, and some people, myself included use the trails to place the breech into position. As for the mortor I hope that was sarcasim cause the mortors dont a cypher on it. so it...
I along with 3 others who were awaiting for battleschool were washin an ML when the announcement went over the radio. Made all of us think of what the future could hold for us...
Just a bit of UFI I', in the mortor plt here in shilo lol. Anyhow I got this info passed on in orders and my friend's in B bty as well. The Bty should be recieving the UAV's sometime in the very near future......
Was wonderin if any 1 in the arty world has hears as to what is gonna happen in the future? What I mean is that by B Bty takin UAV's we lost 6 guns right there and that's a lot of firepower. Plz comment.....
Just add to the question about being a platoon.. Yes sometimes we are configured as a plt. Ever since we recieved the mortors we started this. When we are mortors we are a mortor plt not a bty. So we tend to reorg. into an infrantry plt. Bt thats how my Bty does it , it may not be like this...
I've been here since '01. And as for the growin pains......already have started that at the ranks ( I DJ there). As for trainin i meant in general, now if we do an ex involving dismounted ops we have the pro's ight there if we need some advice. And as guns we can practice live shootin over ya...
I'll have to say training on the mortors is easy, and u dont have to fire live to get the point we got 4 SAT trainer mortors that we actually drop bombs into and it has recoil and all the goods. Great idea to train without leavin the building, But nothin beats the real thing of course
Gunner you put a HUGE smile on my face by saying that mortors are to be used in a secondary role ;D im kinda tired of carrying the things everywhere lol.
I live in Shilo now, its not a bad spot, just a pain to drive to Brandon if ya need something. Housing is actually the best ive seen, being a base brat myself i mean it. We at 1RCHA for the most part are looking forward to your arrival. It gives us an opportunity to train along side yas more...
Ad gunner, i think u have no idea what our trade is fully capable of and I think u should look it up and really think for a moment. As for the "fat" guys in gagetown....... yea they maybe but have U ever been out with a real regiment of FD ARTY? Cause I'm a mortorman and my ruck weighs more...
Well first was the recoil mech, then the barrel got worn down faster and made the whole thing unstable espcially when in a rapid fire. Both guns got more and more inaccurate as the tests went on but the LG1 I think came up as the better gun.
It‘s a new base bleed ammo we tested it last summer here in shilo. The Lg1 held up good to the punch, but the c-3 didnt like it as much. We got a 22km range out of it so they started using it in Afganistan.
I posted a link in another arty forum http://army.ca/ubb/ultimatebb.php/topic/2/92 this is what to be expected in the near future hopefully just an interm thing but hey its good news for gunners anyhow. As for the 578‘s rarely are used because they are mostly broken down and awaiting and...
