What's the dumbest thing you heard said today?

What about hot alcoholic drinks?  Oh wait... that's already covered somewhere. I always found this whole topic of making sure coffee cups are labelled with "Caution, Hot" and people suing if they are burnt by a hot drink due to their own actions complete garbage.  If the cup itself...

    Remembering 9-11 (merged anniversary thread)

It's interesting that 12 years later I can still recall with vivid detail exactly where I was and what I was doing on that day when I heard the news, just like many of you can probably do the same. I was 17 at the time and in my last year of high school, my application was already in to the...

A solemn farewell to 416 Squadron

Does this mean one of the squadrons will be moved somewhere?  If so, where?

    WTS Quadrail for Remington 870

PM sent, but forgot to include in my questions if the $100 includes the red dot site and shell holder or if that's extra. Thanks.

Camp Nathan Smith now in hands of AFG Uniform Police

Ditto to that, as well as the Wilson drawdown we did with the move to Shoja... that was a hoot.

Search for New Canadian Ranger Rifle (merged)

If only that was a viable excuse, sadly it wasn't.  And it wasn't me that was shooting d&b  :P

Not sure if that was sarcasm, but you're welcome?

Search for New Canadian Ranger Rifle (merged)

And that right there is one of the main reasons the project was initially hitting some significant roadbumps even before the SAMP was delayed, because a firearms company is not very happy after winning a contract to then hand over the designs to another company to have their rifle built.  The...

    CANFORGEN on Pay and PIL

There are a lot of questions on where everyone's file sits.  I've resolved myself to just be patient and when I get my PIL I get it.  My file was given to my OR on 14 Dec 12 and they emailed my filed to the PIL office on 12 Feb 13.  I know of others that were sent after mine and they recieved a...

If you look closely you can also a see a yellow undershirt peeking out which gives yet another example of how he is most likely an imposter.

    Out-of-shape soldiers a 'national threat'

Agreed, balanced is the key word.  Everyone is different and I've met the 5'5" 160lbs Cpl that can push himself for days and carry tons of gear, and I've also met the 6'1" 210lbs Lt that can bench press a truck but can't keep up on a ruck march.  It's all about balance and as others have said...

    Out-of-shape soldiers a 'national threat'

Huh? I had a long lengthy post about what you should be doing in the field for proper hydration, caloric intake and teaching soldiers about proper water conservation while still ensuring they get what they need... but no, a facepalm about the above post is fitting instead.

What kind of glasses should I get?

Ask and you shall receive. The above glasses will keep you in style while you're slugging it out in the bush.  And although they may draw the attention of your course staff, it will only be because they are jealous of your "mad cool bling-wear".

    Improved Combat Uniform

You're correct, Canadian Rangers are only issued CADPAT pants.  However, a lot of our CR buy their own aftermarket equipment and will sometimes "augment" their apparel with such items, but we usually discourage this when in front of the camera.

Man almost castrated by his speed boat

Good to hear that he was able to get some timely assistance. I'm pretty sure most guys (including myself) are putting their hands between their legs and cringing as they read this story.

    Anti-Zombie kit.

Hey Drew, where did you find my high school grad photo? I like the kit OZ, but you're missing the map of your neighborhood where everyone has the best stockpiles of food/water etc that you can grab.
