It takes four or five pairs of sentries, plus two NCOs to post sentries, for a 9 to 5 day at the War Memorial with CG. I figure for a 24/7, 365 job, it'd be at least a platoon, not factoring in support staff. I'd sign up for it in a heartbeat.

Where would an order to change this come from? Heritage Canada? The CDS himself? Who has the authority to post sentries 24/7?

I was recently issued a new black web belt, and it seems too wide. I was told its size should be comparable to the white web belt (the rubber one). Does anyone know the appropriate width?

Rank and file is the Guard. Pers given a rank and file tasking will be parading as Guardsmen on Parliament Hill and performing sentry duty at Rideau Hall and the National War Memorial.
