Interesting video and neat to see how the subs operate.  Don't know much about subs but I couldn't help but notice some of the conning/engine orders the CO was giving near the end of the video.  Just curious but is the general/standard format of conning orders on subs different from surface ships?

I think it's great.  There is no reason why I should have to change my head dress just to go from the ship to ashore.  It's part of our operational dress and I think it looks professional.  Navy pers 'seem to be wearing even when not on ship' because they are, it's authorized, and it's practical.

Interesting..I wonder if it will still be equivalent to the reg force course.  Personally, 6 weeks doesn't seem like long enough to get the true 'Basic' experience but I guess the Army reserves has been doing weekend courses for years anyways and this will help introduce more flexibility for...

Out of curiosity, has anyone had any experience with this program?  Has it been effective in helping you learn French?

Fixed that...granted the article authors have never met her but it would have been easy to look up.  There arn't too many female Admiral's in the RCN, but SHE's one of them! ;)

wow...he was apparently a reservist before transferring reg too.  The Navy Int community is not that big, I'm sure I'll be hearing about this in the wardroom too..

Your title is a bit misleading as strictly speaking, I do not believe the situation you described makes you a 'mature student' especially for the purposes of university applications or ROTP for that matter.
