-1 is the max that can be given at one time. Sometimes that seems to be a shame.

Responses to Sorry, we don't agree: "Fighting is for Men"

Well sir, I'm not sure how you'll take the advice of a WO. However I will counsel you that though the MCpl's comments are inappropriate in relation to the difference in your ranks, every point he made appears valid to me. You have an opportunity to correct your unprofessional conduct. I strongly...

    Crash Landing; The Passionate Eye-CBC

Boy, you've sure bought into the propaganda. Maybe malaria is a better choice? Anyone consider that the US soldiers who went off and killed their wives and themselves might have been suffering from something other than Mefloquine problems? I'm getting sick of idiots. Idiots who MUST seek a...

Fire Support downsizing continues - blame precision

And "going light" meant carrying less and walking. There's a bit more to Light Infantry than that. Or so I'm told.

Bidding may be bypassed in $12.2B military deals

We designed NO warships used by the RCN (or any other navy) in WWI or WWII. We may have designed a merchie or two, and there were a few gate vessles and minor patrol vessles used by the RCNR that were basically civvy craft pressed into service. Canada BUILT quite a few British-designed...

    Regimental Birthdays

That's Friesenburg Day, isn't it? My Regimental memory is a bit dim, but IIRC the "Regimental Day" commemorates the battle of Friesenburg (sp) where the "Originals" were effectively destroyed, but the battalion held its position. Broom-a-loo casualties don't approach those of the battle, but...

There is currently nothing in Canadian law that allows for the stripping of citizenship. Passports can, and have, be denied.

Bidding may be bypassed in $12.2B military deals

None of our warships were Canadian designed in WWII. Today's aviation industry comprises Bombardier and several companies that do electronics/avionics etc. not exactly robust, and Bombardier isn't in the biz of producing tactical military airfames - rotary or fixed wing. If you want to build...

Captured Canadian Grizzly IFV - former Yugoslavia?

The C6 is basically the FN MAG 58 GPMG in use by quite a few armies other than Canada. It could have been Canadian, but could also have belonged to another contingent or been bought through the underground arms market.

Capt Rechner comes to mind, but I didn't consider him a POW - he was a hostage.

    Fighting is for men

I don't blame it on the Charter. I blame it on the lack of imagination and will of the CF leadership during the period that all this was put in place. That blame isn't confined to the higher leadership either - it goes right down to the JrNCO level, and we can see the effects today.

Captured Canadian Grizzly IFV - former Yugoslavia?

What cause me the question the story was that it doesn't quite match the events in Bosnia that I'm aware of. Maybe it's the terminology (POW didn't come to my mind at the time) as the situation was one of the CDN soldiers in question being "blockaded" in their OPs, retaining their weapons. I was...

Fighting & Winning The Global War on Terror (WW IV)

You know, I normally don't find you this obtuse. I was going to post a long rebuttal, but I figured if you got this much wrong: Your inability to check your work, even from posts that are on the same page or only one page back, indicates that you need a little seasoning. Get your poop in one...

MERGED: Depleted uranium (effects, hunger strike, etc.)

Some of us regard any web-site with a political leaning - right or left - with skepticism. There are plenty of reputable sites (such as FAS - quoted above by Teddy). As for personal observations and first hand accounts, they are widely accepted here - once the storyteller has established...

    France Burning

Civil unrest is usually only regarded as treason when it is advocating the overthrow of the exisiting regime. Actually these things DO happen spontaneously, but they certainly don't happen for no reason. They can be, and often are, steered by small groups of agitators. You are entirely missing...

Holy merde. Some of you people need a real dose of reality (yes, I'm from the Redundancy Department of Redundancy, I'm here to help). In any case: I also have some respect for the French military - but the FFL is most definitely NOT the type of force one would want to use for ACP. And I'm a...
