Agreed 100% and good to hear. Just got a little concerned reading some recent posts about Snr leadership still having issues about changes happening with FFO.
Hopefully this issue has been laid to rest then.
Any reason the clothing system is set up to be so bureaucratic, rigid and costly? You can't be the only one that has voiced your concerns about how badly managed the whole clothing entitlement process is.
True true - but how many times have you been on parade where C6s, C9s and 203s are carried? For parades in CADPAT, rest assured RSMs/CSMs will want to have all troops in rifleman mode... But that's the beauty of the modular stuff - and here is the statement of the obvious - once the parade is...
I have had the pleasure of having to force significant BN topics for a three-star into one page, standard. Any longer would be pushed back for editing. And keep in mind the space taken by the formatting and the signature block. I think this is forcing the PowerPoint mentality into a BN which is...
To give you an even better informed answer, your question should provide the forum with some additional points, such as:
- your budget
- the intended use of the rig
- with the above point, will body armour be an issue
- likewise, required realestate for pouches, types to be used
A lot of...
Do a search for the whole "issued Tac Vest is junk" thread and you will notice that the TT MAV (2-piece with centre adapter and X-harness) is one of the few in the running as an interim solution that has been authorised (by the CLS no less) for wear by the CF. As a side note, the TT design...
All bases/trg areas have all of the required cleaning supplies/tools for the weapons used on courses or general range practice. No need to buy your own stuff.
You will likely get very savvy on the C7A1 or A2 (if the new one has been phased in for trg centres). Straying from my lanes as an army...
Never did I imply this would be easy or fixable in the near- or even medium-term. However, what struck me in the story was the brushing aside of the issue (three monkeys, anyone?). Of course, we don't have the complete story, but it is of concern that there seemed to be a lack of serious concern...
Not so foreign to be included in the Afghan law, as posted earlier. Thus formal law applies. Again, how are we, the CF, going to evaluate success in "raising" these security institutions (in conjunction with others lead by CIDA, DFAIT etc) if we don't have certain benchmarks, aka acceptable...
Various definitions of homosexuality across the world aside, what was witnessed and the what the main issue here is the open and unabashed exploitation of minors for sexual purposes. And of all institutions WE (the CF and other western elements) are there to train and elevate to a higher...
I hear ya. I believe in mission command wholeheartedly, but I get the sense that some RSMs especially (being the main arbiters of dress and deportment) seem to change operational dress standards on a whim, often blatantly ignoring logic, common sense and empirical evidence. Now, once the CLS (in...
Gotta love it when policies change with the tides. Either the Comd or the RSM have to stop this nonsense once and for all. I wouldn't be surprised if the next roto gets the nay for X or Y kit when it was OK (and proven) with the previous roto. Personality = policy, it seems.
Agreed. First time I've heard that the CADPAT pattern is in need of a revamp, compared to the numerous complaints about the actual design (pocket layout etc etc). The article was pretty vague on the actual reason the redesign of CADPAT. Can anyone elaborate on this, or if there is talk about...
Added to above by MCG, what looks unprofessional is soldiers in the sandbox (for example) jury-rigging all kinds of addons (due to necessity) to the POS tacvest flipflopping about, or Browning HPs falling out of M9 Beretta holsters. The list goes on.
THAT's what looks unprofessional.
Surely the points of issue will be too many/too few PALS channels, crappy pouch selection/styles and other minor issues compared to the glaring FUBAR tacvest deficiencies. As long as the new getup is completely modular and points toward TT MAV and/or MOFOCR style, I think any gripes will be more...
Conversely...
I am sure there was a point when the "standard" or "all dressing the same" (right to the same boot laces etc etc) was based on common sense or a sense of purpose (eg looking good on a parade, stretched out and often limited supply chains in extended campaigns etc). However, those...
What about the Rob arms XCR through Wolverine Supplies. All the rail and piston system setups are built in and as far as I know, the XCR may be non-restricted. Cost may be a little high, but after SOPMODing an AR15A4, ends up costing about the same.
