Since this thread is titled "Security Clearance Form Trick", I'll give a couple of other tricks.
Sorry for those of you that may think this is common sense for all, it really isn't.
1) When giving references, try to pick local people first, people close to a base second, and people all in one...
Wow Vern - that was your first post like a month ago and you're already up to 160 something total posts?? You've been a busy man. ;)
Here's my take on the WWB:
1) First of all, I've worn the WWB a couple of times. One time when both sets of Mark 3s got mashed wet and I needed some dry...
I can definetely remember those days. The term "Sig O" was like a four letter word in some units. It was as though whenever there was a problem in the unit with anything that plugged into the wall, "Sig O's responsibility". It was pretty bad. :brickwall:
And the unit I was using in my...
Wow - thanks for that. :D
Very informative indeed.
My fave is "3.86 The use of slang abbreviation "sigs" is not looked upon with favour." Uhhhhh..........ok. I think that one has been long forgotten in the past 40 years since that book has been in print. Sigs seems to be a pretty...
Just wondering if anyone has ever heard this term "NIS". It was in a lesson plan someone came across today. Thinking it may simply be a typo. But who knows?
Pat on the back to whoever can hit me up with an answer. References would help too.
Don't everyone refer me to the CF Abbreviations...
Ha ha time off! So much to learn young grasshopper.
But seriously Chopper, in lamen's terms (because that's all I know ;D) - courses are sometimes revamped, changed for content, etc. etc. after recommendations by instructors or perhaps standards (who oversee the trainers' training). Quite...
I just have to jump in here with 2.......take it or leave it.
1) Wern32 - you are pretty _______ for one. (Please insert your choice of word in the blank - stupid, ignorant, brave, or naive) With all the information you have in your profile and all of your "opinions" on this whole...
Wow, thanks for the info armyvern. Very interesting indeed. Quite honestly, I can say that when my friends and I received CUA years back, we were never really told that this was something that was put in place for replacement of DEUs. I knew that it was always the responsibility of the...
Don't forget - we aren't all Reg Force here. I didn't know about CUA being gone because it never affected me - not because of ignorance. Even spoke to some friends who are off on Pat leave right now - they don't even know about it. Too bad for them they'll be going back to work making 17...
Oh wow. Wasn't aware of the clothing allowance being gone. When did that happen? I always thought that it went towards small things to KEEP UP your kit - not just pocketed savings to help pay to replace it. Too bad. RIP Clothing Allowance.
Thanks. That answers some questions for sure...
Perhaps somebody reading this knows a way to pour hundreds of thousands of dollars (each) into aging Army trucks in order to keep the fleet going. But would that be saving the military money - or just the opposite?? Sorry - off track.
Seriously LCIS guy - get your idea well documented, get...
Just my take - but I suppose the best way to think of it is that a Sig Op is not exactly required for some patrols. Once that radio is set up - I'm sure the patrol is more comfortable having someone combat arms acting as a Signaller. Sure it's not always the case, but I have met some...
Just figured I'd tag my question onto this thread since it has to do with Online Clothing and Logistik Unicorp.
This question is directed at anyone really - Sup Techs especially since they'd have first hand knowledge.
Since the introduction of this online system, I believe you cannot do...
Well I figured this question would be answered within a day - but since no one bit - I'll go:
Ok first off, I'd like to cover my butt by saying I'm not a Private in the Bde so I'm not the perfect person to give out the best info. Secondly, I'd like to add that NO MATTER WHAT any one person...
Willy - I agree with your statement above - 99 percent of it. The one part I don't agree with is that if we could have every person who shows up to sign the paysheet and "turn it off" take a release - then the Reserves would quite probably be cut in half. Ok - that's personal experience. May...
Courses are most often loaded by priority of requirements. If a jump company needs to get a handful of guys qualified, then obviously they should be put first in line for positions ahead of some guy in (let's say for arguement) CFJSR in Kingston. If a course has a load of 50, then usually...
