Tactical Armoured Patrol Vehicle - RG-31, LAV Coyote, and (partial) G-Wagon Replacement

I dont think fast pack and slow pack are imaginary distinctions. While not formal doctrine they are absolutely how we actually work.

Canadian modular assault rifle project, a C7 replacement?

So the solution is to buy a bunch of extended rifles, or fake rifles, so we can rest the puts on the ground?

Canadian modular assault rifle project, a C7 replacement?

Or... we could just do carbine drill like we're supposed to.

Canadian modular assault rifle project, a C7 replacement?

100 percent this, i read your shot gun comment as "something to do emergency cuas" @PrairieFella I've never shot a 320 or Eagle. That said i think once you start having to do weapon transition drills then the way they get used changes to become much more deliberate. As Kevin points out a...

Canadian modular assault rifle project, a C7 replacement?

Theres a few options, the 320 stand alone looks good. Of course Colt makes the Eagle so i think we know what we'll get.

Canadian modular assault rifle project, a C7 replacement?

100 percent this. The section is an element of a platoon and isnt going to be off isolated doing it's own thing without support.

Canadian modular assault rifle project, a C7 replacement?

I think its probably just the lack of ever employing it or seeing it employed that made me gloss over it. Im also generally indifferent to section and platoon sharp shooters, Id prefer to see a CG / NLAW / what ever AT and HE projector in there myself.

Well i feel dumb for skipping that over.

Canadian modular assault rifle project, a C7 replacement?

In what doctrine? Like which pub, we briefly had that in Afghanistan but it neither exists in concrete form or in the infantry platoon in battle, that I've read that is.

For most of the GS users the rifle will be equal volume sitting unused in its rack

Canadian modular assault rifle project, a C7 replacement?

The real question is what ballistic energy is required, at what range, and what handling trade off is worth it. There isnt much benefit to have a 400m capable rifle if were expecting infantry soldiers to be clearing trench systems, forests, and houses where that 18 inch barrel is at best a...

Well Alex McColl is a huge Gripen guy on twitter... well huge in the context of Canadian defence commentary. HT sounds like they work at DLR 5-4 outside of the gripen comments.

Soldier Operational Clothing and Equipment Modernization

The only complaint is the brown mesh looks worse than black mesh. However after a full day of sledding in the mou trains, complete with a lot of digging my snowmobile out, I would dry out the base layer in not time at all. Thats on my body under layers as well.
