"The stuff the army issues is useless" and "no non-issue kit over seas!"

No. My son just came back from Kandahar last week. For a time this Cpl and my son were in the same platoon. He was not serving as a front line infantryman. There is more to this story then the kit. There are other reasons why he talked to the media. This type of thing was SOP for this guy.

"The stuff the army issues is useless" and "no non-issue kit over seas!"

I will try to be careful here. 1) The Cpl in question is not reg. Army, and did not send much time outside the wire. I’ve heard stories. 2) The K-becers were discouraged from wearing their store bought kit. 3) I saw my kid’s mom on the TV news last week waving at P.E.T. Maybe I’ve said...

Here are some stupid questions. I know it’s a long shot.  What about her own country? Do they have health insurance in Cyprus like the rest of Europe? If so, can she make a claim to get reimbursed from them?

    Soldiers lauded at Flames game

It is nice to see that the citizens of Calgary are showing their support for the reserve troops deploying to Kandahar next month. The best part of this story is that after they arrive in Kandahar, the Quebec (and NB) reservists get to come home. However, I have to confess that I am feeling a...

    Iranians Provoke USN

I saw a report on CNN this evening that seems to indicate that the US Navy is backing down from their original claims. The “threatening voice” appears to have come from a third party, and not the Iranians. They believe that it was a local heckler known to the US Navy as the “Filipino Monkey”...

Mr Staples dose not have a degree in History. His Bachelors is in Education. The bottom line is that Mr. Staples is not a military analysis, or an expert. He is a lobbyist with an anti-military and anti-American agenda.
