    Wearing Uniform in Public (Cadets)

I've tried the old soap, masking tape etc. didn't like using it, or starch on the shirts. Ironing the cooks whites everyday for work, gets you pretty good with an Iron. For the polyester pants, should of had the tailor stitch in the crease.

    Wearing Uniform in Public (Cadets)

It is harder to get a razor sharp crease out of them than the wool DEU pants, its like ironing the NCD pants. Our CF uniform is tailored, while the Cadet Uniform is not, so there is alot more adjusting. The drape can only truly be fixed by good tailoring.

    Wearing Uniform in Public (Cadets)

It is more difficult to maintain the cadet uniform, less almost no wool in the pants makes it difficult to crease, your wearing your dress uniform every week, sewing your badges on by hand (good skill to have). In the CF, I wore my DEU's probably only 3 times a year, spent the rest of the time...

    Wearing Uniform in Public (Cadets)

People give you a top gun salute, followed by ridiculous comments. It's the main reason I didn't wear my uniform in Cadets or the Military too often. While in uniform, keep your dress and deportment and conduct (comments) in check, there is always someone who will report it and you won't even...

    Advice: Wear Sunscreen

Neutrogena makes SPF 110 although it is pricey at something like $14.00 a bottle, but its worth it. http://www.neutrogena.ca/en/getProduct.asp?cat=7&sub=57&id=103&display=0 Don't put on a skimpy amount either, if you don't put sunscreen on you could also end up with moles, which may or may not...

    Advice: Wear Sunscreen

Your nose and ears can also blister terribly, taking along time to heal, zinc based sunblocks will help heal that. Some zinc based blocks are clear so you don't have to go to the water park with a blue nose.

It's not boring for the Army guy that has to sit in the dentist chair...more like horrifying, I think it's the sound of the high pitched drills... BTW The Navy is the Army's best kept secret, find out for yourself. Showers, 3 squares a day, a dry warm bed (rack) and you get to see the...

    Procedures and length?

I cannot speak for Infantry types but after BMQ I was sent to CFB Borden, the time frame between me getting to Borden and the start of the QL3 cook course was something like three weeks, so I went home on a week or so annual leave. Contrast to others whom were stuck there for months on end...
