"The stuff the army issues is useless" and "no non-issue kit over seas!"

I absolutely remember that, we had about two weeks to go until deployment and we were out at the range in -30C trying to figure out how to zero these sights. There was no pams or anything. We went that whole tour without any official paperwork or documentation for this sight.  We figured it out...

"The stuff the army issues is useless" and "no non-issue kit over seas!"

I can speak without a shadow of a doubt that the 1VP guys asked for MODULAR, they even went so far as to invite the owner of Tactical Tailor up to do a gear demo.  That weekend ended with about $5k in sales for TT. The boys, mostly snr NCO's actually, argued with DLR. I believe a few units got...

    CADPAT Rain Gear

TF 1-08 got the new rain gear which is very close to the air force version with a few additions, namely, pit zips, arm pockets, name tag velcro, rank slide. All in all, it's not bad, I can't see how the mesh lining contributes aside from making it heavier.

"The stuff the army issues is useless" and "no non-issue kit over seas!"

Having a MOLLE/PALS-based system would be perfect. Imagine, a soldier gets issued a base rig and a bunch of pouches (mag, grenade, 203, smoke, radio, first aid, utility, dump, etc, etc). Depending on his job, he configures his rig for it. A C9 gunner may have 3 C9 pouches on his rig and no C7...

New (Issue) Rain Gear VS Stealth Suits

I have the Stealth jacket, as well as both the army and the air force rain gear. I prefer the army version over the air force version. I have worn just the jacket as well as the set. I really like it. I cut the mesh liner out of my rain jacket. It allows it to pack smaller as well as lightening...

39 CBG Cambrian Patrol 2007 Team Wins Bronze

The ICE rucks were pretty good, they still need some mods and tweaks done on them.  I think a couple of the boys are going to put up some reviews once Hobey does the tweaks. These were identified before the patrol, however ICe was not able to make the changes prior to us deploying.

39 CBG Cambrian Patrol 2007 Team Wins Bronze

There were supposed to be three Canadian teams this year...39 Bde, 33 Bde, and apparently an RCR team. The RCR team never went.  We were on the same serial as the 33 Bde team. On our serial 20 teams had signed up, 18 started and 12 finished. There was one gold, about four silvers and one bronze...

Just because there were no physical casualties doesn't mean there weren't any............anyway I thought it...
