    NDHQ Dress Code

I've been to NDHQ in civvies before. I'm going to assume that Flawed Design had a reason to be in civvies (i.e. on leave, after his duty hours etc). If I'm on leave or outside duty hours and I decide I need to go to the base for something (admin, stores, medical appointment, whatever) then I'm...

    NDHQ Dress Code

I'm confused. The links you provided state quite clearly that acceptable civilian dress includes slacks (what my grandpa wears), blazers, ties and suits. Unacceptable dress includes denim, t-shirts etc. What are you trying to say?

    NDHQ Dress Code

The CF is still firmly stuck in the 1950's when it comes to civilian dress codes. Officer's messes are the worst, you get stared at by the 'more senior' (in age, not necessarily rank) members if you show up for a beer wearing something less then a suit and tie. Forget jeans, sneakers, t-shirts...

If I don't get into ROTP.. options...

I believe there are categories for 'Land Support', 'Air Support' etc as well as 'Land Ops' etc. Even under the old system, from day one you, as a log officer, are either land/sea/air. Unlike the log NCM trades, officer's aren't exactly purple in that there are seperate courses for log officers...

    Possible Error ???

When you go to the recruiting center make sure you bring an official school transcript with you, so if there was an error with your marks you have the official proof of your actual grades.

so what do you plan long weekend ?

With my luck, I'll be a duty officer all weekend.

Hydration Pack Attach to Tac Vest

I'd carry it seperate from the vest. That way you don't have to remove all your kit to re-fill it. Also, you'd have to remove it anyway to carry the small pack/ruck.

Evolution classes optional under proposed Alberta law

 There is absolutally no evidence to support creationism. None. Zip. Nadda. Zilch. Therefore, it has no place in any institution of learning. Neither do religious teachings of any kind. I do like it out here in Wild Rose Country, but sometimes the hillbilly politics of a select group of...

    Pet. Vs Meaford

Dundurn isn't too bad in that it's a relatively short drive into Saskatoon (well, 30 min or so) but as for Shilo and Suffield...I agree, yuck. Especially Suffield. IMHO, the only good posting for a young person in the Army would be Edmonton as it is at least in a major city, Gagetown is...

    Pet. Vs Meaford

It's still quite a hike from the garrison to downtown or Whyte Ave. If you're unfortunate enough to be stuck in the shacks then you really would want a designated driver when heading out for a night on the town. Cabs are expensive. Edit: But if you're looking for a better army base overall for...

ROTP at Civilian University 2004 - 2018 [Merged]

No, not necessarilly. To the OP, each has its advantages and disadvantages. If you're more the self-directed type (like me), I advise civvie-u. If you like being directed, I advise RMC.

    Question about postings

When you join you will be offered a trade, it's up to you to accept it. You will only be enrolled in the trade you were offered and accepted, there are only a few occasions when the CF can force you into a different trade (compulsory occupational transfer) and when they do you again get a...

IF KIA, what benefits for my family offered by CF

Well hoo-rah for you. Failing to plan and consider what you are leaving behind to family/loved ones in case you pass away only shows a lack of forsight and maturity. I really am sick of reading negative comments that are made regarding pay and benefits questions, there is nothing wrong with...

    Canadiens fans boo American anthem

IMHO it depends where you are in the country. Some parts are more respectfull then others (unless you find yourself being a Calgary fan in Edmonton or vice versa...man oh man and I thought the Ottawa-Toronto and Ottawa-Buffalo rivalry was bitter...).

    Canadiens fans boo American anthem

I'm not surprised, considering where the Bell Centre is located. Not suprised at all. I've been to games in the States, specifically Buffalo, where the fans are for the most part drunk, rowdy and obnoxious. But never once do they boo the Canadian anthem, instead they stand quietly and cheer...

    RMC and Resource Students

You'd have to enquire when you get there. I'm not an expert on mental disabilities, but I know that at civilian schools anyone with a disability of the sort you mention usually makes themselves known to the campus centre for disabled students (or whatever they call it) and the centre helps them...
