    Step test vo2 calculations

I don't know the answer, but as the step test is the minimum standard for Reserve entry (from what I've read), why wouldn't you just work to exceed the minimum by BOTH methods?

BOTC - Aug 27th, anyone going??

I think you want to be locked up. ;)  There isn't much to do in St Jean anyway, so being locked up is really more psychological than anything, and usually you are so busy, you wouldnt be going anywhere anyway!  Enjoy the Mega.  I really don't miss the dust bunnies....

    Autobiography Thread (merged)

He delivers it that way because this is really common sense my friend. Leave ample space on your cover page for the two missing items, and fill it in when you get there..    Not having two pieces of information you know you will get later should not stop you from doing 99.98% of the work...

Platoons, Brigades, Divisions Oh My! How the Army & the CF are structured.

You are combining a lot of things in one sentence. You may gain better ground if you try to think about one arm (as in Infantry), as opposed to the entire Army. But if you want to go there, look at the Brigade info.  The Wiki is pretty self-explanatory.

Monthly Pay after deductions - Questions [Merged]

shorinsakka, All DEO candidates are commissioned following BOTP/BOMQ. I've yet to hear any stories where someone wasn't. The difference is for those without a degree.. it seems, at least from reading here, that those with former service via CEOTP receive commission the same as DEO.  ROTP and...

    Is Patrolman Officer Material(CEOTP)?

Phase II for the Army has always been the 'aka' of CAP, not BOTP.....

    Cenotaph/Memorial Vandalism/Solutions-Laws (merged)

Yeah, the Corporal in 3s looked a little ashamed that he hadn't caught it... he wasn't exactly busy. Can the security shift member not go over and ask people to refrain from the inappropriate photo taking? I would actually kind of prefer to see some sort of cordon setup around the tomb...

    Cenotaph/Memorial Vandalism/Solutions-Laws (merged)

Went by on Saturday with my family - my much younger brother has never seen military up-close (sheltered existence, I know), and we were somewhat embarrassed that he lives in the area and never really got to experience much of the more "formal" ottawa. In any event, we had just watched a...

Hey, would you really trust your application on the Swedes?  They are kind of known for shafting us in the Ikea screw department...

Monthly Pay after deductions - Questions [Merged]

This CEOTP confusion is really starting to annoy me. In the end, Im basically going through the motions to get a letter to see what it says, since Recruiting seems unable to be entirely certain. The old OCTP program commissioned following MOC training, but effective date of Commission was 9...

    Arty Officer Update

Petard - Thanks for the honesty, it is exactly what I am looking for. I certainly am not asking for an "all sunshine and lollipops" type discourse with anyone out here, just really what its like for the boots on the ground. It is unfortunate that there is not greater visibility on just what...

    Arty Officer Update

This is, indeed, an example of what I'm curious about.  Luck in your statement can be construed to mean two very different things;  in one way one could take it that I would be very blessed for the opportunity to do so (which I agree with), and the other could mean that no matter the effort and...

    Arty Officer Update

Petard - Thanks for the follow-up.  I have been subsquently doing a fair amount of Arty-related research around here and such (via PMs, etc) and did see that Arty video on youtube (and basically every other one I could find using various keywords). My apologies for making assumptions; most of...

Better system instead of Cl A pay sheets

This is the sort of tool I develop at work with a programmer... We've been replacing a lot of paper forms with electronic "Web" interfaces that write to a DB (usually SQL Server). This can be easily done if the original requirements are kept modest. Indeed, for about 10-15k,  you could have a...

If given an offer, how long do I have to accept?

Couldn't tell you, though I know it is a more difficult trade to get into, what with the boards and such. I'm sure another MP around here will be able to give you a better idea.

If given an offer, how long do I have to accept?

From what I do know/have been told, May / June next year would be straying into next years numbers. You can however inform the CFRC of any pertinent issues that may delay your ability to accept (school courses, for example).

    The Military Police [MP] Superthread

There was another thread around here about some MP restructuring and some of the issues that a typical MP is facing in their trade. Several members added their 0.02. Probably worth a search. I know that what I took out of that is this:  If you want to be a civilian cop, go be a civilian...

how many people will be on BOTC

Your IAP serial (not BOTC, BOTC doesn't exist) will probably start with around 40 young eager occifers.  Could be a bit more, could be a bit less, all depending.
