If given an offer, how long do I have to accept?

I am interested in applying with the military as an MP, and due to my current circumstances I would not be ready to start basic training until May or June 08 at the earliest. So say I went through the application process and was successful, and I was offered a position, is there a time limit attached to the offer? If I applied today and was accepted sometime in early 08, would I be able to delay entry until I was able to accept?

From what I understand, there is no set time frame for the application process, some applications take longer then others, so I would like to get the ball rolling in order to ensure that come next spring, I would have all my ducks in a row.

Thanks!

From what I do know/have been told, May / June next year would be straying into next years numbers.

You can however inform the CFRC of any pertinent issues that may delay your ability to accept (school courses, for example).

Fair enough, I assume they have a quota to fill each year. That being said, do you have any insight on MP hiring numbers for this year/next? Thanks again.

Couldn't tell you, though I know it is a more difficult trade to get into, what with the boards and such.

I'm sure another MP around here will be able to give you a better idea.
