    Canteen Access

I don't believe that the canteen at Depot still exists....I had heard that it was closed a few years back, due to internal theft by an employee. The cadets now buy all their paraphanalia at the new museum giftshop. There is also a mountie gift shop run by a member in Langley. Noneck

User Reviews for Lowa Seeker GTX Combat Boots

I have the opposite problem having wide feet. I went to AJ Brooks here in Vancouver and had a look at Meindls. The army series of Meindls fit quite narrow as do Hanwags. You may want to look at these lines. Hanwags are purchased thropugh Trackn'Trail in Edmonton and Meindls at AJ's. Both models...

is there anyone else in the recruiting process?

A couple of reasons why I decided to go with the RCMP over a local municipal Force are as follows:(In no particular order) -My previous CF service allowed me to buy back a significant amount of pension time...this may not seem like a big deal when you are in your early 20's but when you are in...

"The stuff the army issues is useless" and "no non-issue kit over seas!"

LOACHMAN- "You are, essentially, advocating for the end of innovation and improvement. And if everybody who wants something better in order to make their job easier, more effective, or more readily survivable took your advice and got out, we'd be left with mindless drones more suitable for...

RCMP recruiting unit focus on CF Audience May 28, 2008

Bin, I see that happening all the time, however not just with LEO's. It's a situation that occurrs when most PRes members reach Sgt or Capt. It's just a natural time to move on get married, start a family and get established in a civilian career. Those that are dedicated will take the break...

    Joining the RCMP

My friend do a search on the topic or review all the RCMP related threads on this site. Most of your questions will be answered at that point. If you still have questions them post a query on the blueline.ca forum under law enforcement applicants, there is an RCMP recruiter on that site that...

RCMP recruiting unit focus on CF Audience May 28, 2008

My aim with the CF focused recruiting was so that PRes would benefit. In that young PRes soldiers from my regiment would most likely be posted straight back to the LMD and would then be able to parade and not have to leave the PRes as a result of their Force service. Right now we are getting a...

RCMP recruiting unit focus on CF Audience May 28, 2008

This wasn't an institutional decision, rather I put this together with the support of the Bn CO and E Div recruiting (I don't work in recruiting). Some of our Municipal partners have been actively recruiting locally within the CF, so I figured it was about time for soldiers to hear the Force...

RCMP recruiting unit focus on CF Audience May 28, 2008

I wanted to make sure this gets out to the widest audience possible. There is no better time than the present to consider a career in policing. On Wed 28 May at 1930 hrs, the RCMP E Division Recruitng unit will conduct a career information presentation for 39 CBG soldiers in the Anderson Room...

    Drunk Darth Invades Jedi Church

Thats what I thought as well, but it's the real McCoy according to the beeb. What I find even more disturbing, is that the three of these wank stain Jedi's didn't tackle the drunk and beat seven pillars of snot out of him. Instead they just whinged about it for the camera!

    Canadian Scottish beret

Yes OR's headress is quite often and incorrectly referred to as Balmorals, when they are in fact TOS's. You are correct in referring to the difference in colours between the offcers pattern Balmoral and the darker Khaki OR's TOS. Noneck

    Canadian Scottish beret

ACEN- Balmorals and TOS's are two different forms of headress. Balmorals are most commonly worn by officers and TOS's by OR's.

    Canadian Scottish beret

Nobody in a highland regiment would call their headress a beret, it's commonly known as a Tam O' Shanter or TOS. They have evolved through the ages and are now a lot smaller than the style worn during WW2. Your best bet would be to contact the C Scot R and see if the RQ could loan you a hat, if...
