Canadian Operation Joint Command (CJOC) stand up

Reproduced (in part) under the Fair Dealings provision of the Copyright Act.  This grab is from the Star-Phoenix but it appeared in papers across the country. http://www.thestarphoenix.com/news/Canadian+Forces+shake+command/7329154/story.html Well, one of the vital ingredients.   ...I wonder.

3 Oct 12 - Happy (first ever) Army Reserve Recognition Day!

This site says the "conflict" ended in February 1815 - I don't know where the truth lies, personally.  http://www.1812heroes.ca/uploads/5/6/4/1/5641624/bhbmarch.pdf Anyway, Happy Army Reserve Recognition Day!

    Improved Combat Uniform

  Yep.  Sounds like the heating system in the last apt building I lived in - hot-water radiators, controlled centrally.  They turned the heat on, on the day they were legally obliged to and not one day before, regardless of the weather.  Last time I went on TD to a base in Georgia (US)...

3 Oct 12 - Happy (first ever) Army Reserve Recognition Day!

If memory serves, those are good til 2015.    Yep - 16 Feb 2015, according to the Canforgen.  So you're safe with that one!  ;D Good for you, for bringing visibility to the Res F where you work.  :salute:

    Improved Combat Uniform

As a former support trade reservist, ouch!  ;) I found in some situations I was more comfortable with sleeves rolled up, and others more comfortable (& protected) with them down.

College students reinvent the wheel with spherical drive motorcycle

No worries about getting stuck in a rut when you have spherical wheels!  ;) Congrats, everyone - this is the thread that prompted me to finally go in my settings and check the box saying "Leave words uncensored."  There... that's better. That would never happen in Canada... at least, not...

    Liberal Party of Canada Leadership

ZZzzzz.... wait, what?  What'd I miss?  :o It's ok - I probably won't be voting for my local Liberal candidate no matter who the new leader is.  Unless there's some necessity for strategic voting...not likely in my riding though.

3 Oct 12 - Happy (first ever) Army Reserve Recognition Day!

Really. ;D I do like this part:  -but I wonder how many heard about it in time to do it?  I just heard about this today.  Like "Car-Free" day and various others that are publicized on the day-of, participation is often impractical by the time you hear about it.  Cool idea though, and maybe...

Nope, I meant betray = reveal involuntarily, through comments & assumptions.  Not everyone, not all the time.  Bit of a pet peeve and I might be hypersensitive to it.       ;D

    Media Bias [Merged]

...because that's a great way to stay informed?  I'd say, watch investigative news from multiple sources, and use your own critical analysis.  CBC should be included in the multiple sources - they do have some excellent reporters, as do several other news organizations.  :2c:

It's helpful but you have to look at each neighbourhood one-by-one, which requires knowing the name of the neighbourhood you're looking at.  More useful for residents than house-hunters.  Too bad there isn't an option to select multiple neighbourhoods or even the entire city.

I imagine you meant 118 Ave, vice 188 Ave.  I owned a house a few blocks north of there & east of 97 St, and found it fine.  Mind you, this was 10 years ago so it could have changed since then.  Most of the homes were owner-occupied, and there was a healthy mix of people in the neighbourhood -...

What level of dress can I wear to a civilian formal dance?

Heh heh  ;D Just to confirm, in addition to the various recommendations, the dress regs do explicitly specify No. 2 mess dress for "service and civilian occasions where formal attire would be deemed appropriate, for example, formal receptions, dinners and weddings which occur in the evening." ...
