What about the annual winter exercise? I have a co-worker who used to be at 32 CER a few years ago and he said there is a week-long combat engineer exercise somewhere (outside of Ontario I believe) during winter holidays, and it's a good opportunity to go learn things, and apparently there's a...
dece74, I am also planning to join the Combat Engineers at 32 CER. My file is in progress and I am hoping to enroll this fall or sooner. Feel free to contact me if you want to shoot the crap, bounce around ideas, etc. I've done the tour of the unit, and asked a bunch of questions to the...
Thought I'd check back in quickly. My circumstances have changed and as a result my goals have changed from pursuing a Reg Force Officer career to Army Reserve NCM. I have my application with 32 Combat Engineer Regiment in Toronto, and aiming to start part-time BMQ in October 2015. If anyone is...
Best to go to the recruiting office and explain your situation, and go from there. Just give it a shot, and you will know. If you were misdiagnosed, I would guess you will be fine.
Last I heard from multiple sources, 20-25 DEO pilot spots are to be filled during November selection. No selection took place yet, and I didn't see any recent pilot updates around this board, so I'm assuming these numbers are still accurate.

It looks like I have p’ed off some members of these boards. I just want to confirm my great interest in serving this country. I wish to fly and to continue flying if I am lucky to do so, or otherwise adjust to changing conditions accordingly. It is not my intention to quit...
I understand. I have been waiting for a long time and working towards a job offer from the CAF to begin service to Canada. This is everything I wanted for over 2 years now. I understand the CAF values and would like to play my part to further strengthen them. The reason I ask the VR question is...
Good day,
I believe I can ask this question in this section of the forum. My question is with regards to the contract I would be singing should I receive a job offer for Pilot.
The question is: Even if I am successfully meeting all training requirements, am I free to voluntarily release (VR)...
I would not say critical, and all service is service. But it is interesting to have a general sense of what kind of life may await a pilot should he/she no longer fly for whatever reason, but is not yet ready for retirement. Cheers!
I understand, of course.
However, if someone in the know could provide examples of non-flying pilots' duties later down the road, that would be very interesting to know. Thank you.
After you get winged, what is the "standard" career progression? How many flying tours? How many desk tours? What's the timeline like? When can you start flying the desk (as either Captain or Major if you qualify for promotion) if for some reason you tire of flying? What kind of duties do you...
