I just got back from overseas and found that my unit was poor in supporting us in some areas but in others, they were outstanding.
As a det comd, I found the same support from Ottawa. At times I would request info on something and seconds latter they would reply with what to do. Other times...
How do you argue against what was said. It was well said (or written in this case). I say get elected and become MND we could use someone who is willing to speak up and say what needs to be said to critics of the Forces. When we deserve sheet, give us sheet but when we deserve an adaboy, give...
Correct as I was a Radio Relay guy for a few years but later was a Radio Node 2IC in TCCCS. There we had 2 UHF systems. One system was LOS (essentially the radio relay) and the other for AGA. The bad part of the radio node was 21 emitters all in one location. :threat:
The full aspects of mosart are still being worked out.
The best thing I heard about it was that it would provide some of what you described such as spec pay for certain positions and not for others. Unfortunately, IMHO, I think this will mean the death of all signals trades getting spec pay. ...
Any wireless device is open to intercept. If it is not encrypted by some means, it could result in data falling into another person(s) hands. Bluetooth technology by itself is "considered to be an insecure method of wireless communications" and therefore is a "Non-secure wireless transmission"...
OK, I will eat my shoes now. I was in at the regiment today and three new guys were clearing in. Unfortunate for them good for us. FRESH MEAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
UHF is different than LOS as one is a point to point system (los) and the other is omnidirectional (aircraft). A robot using UHF could go through a RRB or Repeater station that could be set up near the robots location. It would be useless to use an LOS system for comms as it would be to...
The QL 4 did end with the adoption of the Sig Op trade and TCCCS as most of the equipment in the OJT package was old and the concepts were also old. The boys and I up in Pet had redone it but the school would not accept it. We were going to run it in Pet ourselves but Afghanistan and postings...
Hey Luck, there is also a site under PMO TCCCS that had all those checklists as well. We used it up in Pet a lot to refit and recheck the new vehicles. Any of the old MCpls up there should know were it is.
I am in Kingston and he is in Pet. I will spend some time with my family until they are ready to through my sorry ass out of the house and I will go collect. lol
armyguy hit the nail on the head. You will learn quickly who knows what they are talking about and who doesn't. Try to work with them and avoid the ones who don't quite have two brain cells to rub together.
As much as I hate to admit that I like a tech (hehe), I have had the opertunity to...
I started with the 54 patterned webbing, then the 84 patterned and now the TV. We always look at new gear and want it but then complain it doesn't meet the level of the old stuff. Human Nature. We have to adjust to the new gear. I remember getting the Cadpat and saying I will never get use...
I know my time is a bit dated as I joined 12 yrs ago but it took me 6 mos only because I wasn't home one day when they called. Have you asked about going to 1 Line here in Kingston on a call out? They are always in need of more people? Check with your unit and ask about a call out to Kingston...

I have been doing this job for 12 yrs and if that is how that unit does it, I would like to talk to the reg force advisers for not correcting them. Antennas stay on when moving especially in a brigade road move.
