    Mk III Upgrade?

As I've stated in other threads, I get my Mk III's resoled with Vibram every two years or so.  I believe the $60-70 is worth it.  I would love to see the CF subsidize this (even without a medical chit) but I'll still take the hit till then.  I love my feet.

    Sand Storm

Helmets On... A similar sandstorm blew in during Op Apollo.  It will be remembered by most members of the 3VP BG as the day it rained mud.  The icing on the cake was that approx. 30 mins earlier, Art Eggleton was standing on a podium addressing us in regards to the hardships we faced while on...

    - or CTS according to me...

I've "counselled" several members of my company on their insistence to wear the stealth suit as an outer garment.  I emphasize that I am not concerned with uniformity, but rather I would hate to see their $120 piece of kit rendered useless by a sharp twig.

    Trouble with the Neighbours

    - or CTS according to me...

For underwear, I've found nothing beats my Polartec Power Dry.  It's light, breathable, soft and odor resistant.  In extreme cold, Underarmour Cold Gear is outstanding. http://www.polartec.com/contentmgr/showdetails.php/id/209

    How long is training?

It all depends on your trade and entry program. The www.dnd.ca recruiting page lists the lengths of various courses.

The brown Temperate Combat Boot (AKA: Mk IV Cbt Boot) - No longer CADPAT

The only people who get them paid for(in my unit at least) are those with medical chits.  Now it's more common for those with foot problems to be issued Fort Lewis Danners.  I still don't mind paying the $60 for a comfy pair of boots.

The brown Temperate Combat Boot (AKA: Mk IV Cbt Boot) - No longer CADPAT

I agree with CFL.  The Mk III is an excellent boot, with the exception of the sole.  I swear by the flat foot vibram sole with the extra wedge cushion.  If only I could get the army to subsidize it.

    Best Marches

I never liked the PPCLI Medley.  And now that we have moved to Shilo, I would like to see the 2nd Battalions march changed from Marche Winnipeg to something else.  Any suggestions?  I'm partial to the Imperial March by John Williams.

Merged Quotes and Sayings Thread; some useful, some junk

I was taking my platoon through the Indirect Fire Trainer and the last Pte to go was correcting fire.  He competently got on line and began his bracketing.  The exchange went someting like this: G12 this is 33A, Drop 800, over... G12 this is 33A, Add 400, over... G12 this is 33A, yo, back...
