SF: Lower profile = easier funding cut target?

Let's dis-spell  something right now so there is no confusion. JTF X is owned by the Int branch HOWEVER there is a selection and course for this unit and it is open to any trade in the CF should you wish to look into it, but is is not a SOF unit

SF: Lower profile = easier funding cut target?

Thank God!  ;D I should expand on this really JTF X does serve a useful role but they are not controlled by CANSOF ( I wont say weather they should be or not....) And as such though they can an asset to SOF Operations, like SOF JTF X supports all operations for the CF.

    navy to jtf2

Look at the JTF2 website they will have a more detailed answer. However short answer would be any trade in the CF can try out for JTF2 Coxwain or Assaulter as for what trade in the navy I somehow doubt it would matter

    Close Protection Training

OT Your info is out dated currently any CF member may do the CP course after passing selection and the course and then be so employed on CP task. The CP tasking is still however under the governance of the MP branch. As for who and what persons are protected by CANSOF assets let us not...

Future Canadian Airborne Capability and Organisation! Or, is it Redundant? (a merged thread)

The VAST majority would release I suspect. Some would stay of course but the idea of going back to Army and to a role such as that would/is repugnant to the people I know that hang their hat there. Thankfully I can't see there being any steam for this anywhere in CANSOFCOM but then again it...

Future Canadian Airborne Capability and Organisation! Or, is it Redundant? (a merged thread)

Wont/Can't happen you would lose the vast majority of guys there who didn't go through selection and then 7-8 months of course to suddenly say yeah forget those skills sets now you're going to be Rangers, not a viable option

Future Canadian Airborne Capability and Organisation! Or, is it Redundant? (a merged thread)

No redundancy with CSOR that I could see they are SF/SOF nothing they do would be Bn size by my scope of thinking. The info I have from looking around is they are more based on a USSF concept so 6-12 guys Max. An Airmobile Bg would be akin to 101st (AA) and would/could be useful. As for force...

    Airborne Operations

As the above examples state it is not just for SOF. I am not sure it is a capability Canada really can say they have but it "could" be done. I am neither for nor against it really to me it's just another way to get to work but it does provide a interesting flexibility into an otherwise perhaps...

    Airborne Operations

Obviously it depends on the context of the Operation, alone we can't, should we do it in an allied construct it is possible, IF we blended all of the Jump Coys into one and dropped them.
