24 strike length is still VERY versatile.
Picture 4 TASM, 12 SM-2, and still having space for 32 ESSM in quad packs?
Or whatever mix you want. Add a couple of ASROC....
I went to Google and put in "optimal missile loadout for a 24 cell VLS launcher in a modern warship"
It came back as...
Have had a couple of interesting discussions today....some related to this....in short, they're not getting SFA from me except the scraps of receivers that'll be embedded in a poured tri-wall of concrete with only the serial numbers visible.
The less compliance, the more certain I am of an...
The sliding pad-eye is a detail that I'd thought about, and was pretty sure was going to be in that area, but is now confirmed to me. I was wondering for a bit if they were going to try and rig the RAS deck via the mission bay area.
More details to add....
Also - regarding SEA RAM reloading times - there's nothing open-source, but here's a picture of a download - upload would be similar. Individual tubes are loaded with a cannister via the rear panel opening, and a hoist/chainfall and rail are used:

24 strike length cells could be:
12 SM-2
48 ESSM in quad packs
Depends on the mission, but I suspect that the quad pack ESSM is going to be a key part of the defensive package going forward.
A dozen SM-2's will give a good ability to reach out, but a dozen quad packs of ESSM will give quite...
Doing a CIWS upload/download with a well practiced team can be about a half hour or less.
No idea how long it takes to reload a RAM - I suspect quicker.
The RAM launcher - the box on the mount on top of the 'doghouse' on the hangar top.
It's a 21 shot launcher with fast missiles instead of the 20mm CIWS.
Consider, that gives 21 shots - each with longer range and probably a higher probability of a Kill that CIWS.
The CIWS had 1583 rounds in...
I recall learning once upon a time the following phrase:
"Leadership is the art of influencing human behaviour so as to accomplish the mission in the manner desired by the leader."
Not everyone uses the same type of brush when painting, and not everyone uses the same style of leadership...
I said exactly that a while back. The 30K+ protestors that were murdered by the Regime were the most likely people to foment a rebellion against it.
There are probably a few of them left, but that core of 30K people in the streets demanding change are now gone, and it'll be a tough act to step...
I don't for a second think that the US is going to put those marines on Kharg island.
They'll go for one or more of the small islands in the straits first.
It was reported as about 47K..... I'm thinking it's going to hit just over 50K and that'll be it.
Interesting thing - with the case in front of the SCC, there will be a strong consideration for an extension to the Amnesty until the ruling is passed.
