Canada moves to 2% GDP end of FY25/26 - PMMC

The councillor was onboard with my thinking- spend the budget on the non-sexy, but necessary basic infrastructure maintenance, first.

Canada moves to 2% GDP end of FY25/26 - PMMC

I was discussing this with one my municipal councillors, last week. I am a bit tired of bike lanes and speed bump announcements. Could we please focus on replacing sewer lines?

British Columbia NDP Majority Government 2024-(no later than) 2029

Hey! They are “investing” in your future. Or something…

The Great Gun Control Debate- 2.0

Maybe, but I doubt it. That is a pretty niche gun. I know there was a Canadianized version, but they have been Prohibited since 2024. If it was a Vector, it raises some interesting questions about that household.

    Army wearing NECU

The way I have always seen it onboard with naval uniforms is army and airforce people wear their parent environment name tapes and ranks.

The RCAF's Next Generation Fighter (CF-188 Replacement)

Northrup Grumman makes the radar. However- LMC is the Prime, which makes them responsible for their subs.

The RCAF's Next Generation Fighter (CF-188 Replacement)

It is not a great look on LMC. Especially after a few other LMC projects (cough Cyclone cough) have not been great in the old deliverology department.

    New Canadian Shipbuilding Strategy

I think it is actually a 280 story from the 1980s.

El Paso airport and airspace closed without warning for 10 days for ‘national defence’

Well, I have seen up close and personal some interesting inter-agency fuckery in the US. I would imagine it is orders of magnitude worse nowadays.

    Replacing the Subs

    I guess.

    Replacing the Subs

Why? Realistically, there is almost no US involvement in either consortium.

    Replacing the Subs

It is not reducing jobs. They cannot physically hire any more people, because they do not exist to be hired. They need to embrace tech to make their existing workforce much, much more productive.

The RCAF's Next Generation Fighter (CF-188 Replacement)

Well, I do understand that wood is inherently stealthy….

    Naval Deployment questions

That was my cabin in ALG! Every time the ship rolled, the fan cooler unit would piss water on my rack. You learned pretty quickly to keep your gortex rain gear on your bed, both day and night.

    Naval Deployment questions

Most don't bother with the seatbelt (bedbelt?) as it is irritating. The pro move is to get an empty sonobuoy container from sono stores and put it under your mattress, which folds up the mattress and holds you into your rack like a weiner in a hotdog bun. Best sleep of my life…

    Naval Deployment questions

It is fun trying to get back onboard after a 2.5hr flight and the frigate is kicking around like a bronco. #everytrapisanighttrapforabackender I once got thrown out of my rack in the middle of the night. The only thing that saved me was waking up in mid air and somehow catching the wire ways….

    Police Folk Allegedly Behaving Badly

That is going to make quite the prison experience for them, given the allegations. Hated by the criminals, because police. Check. Hated by the guards because they endangered prison staff. Check and mate….

    Replacing the Subs

The launcher is easy. The torpedo programmer is not, necessarily.

The RCAF's Next Generation Fighter (CF-188 Replacement)

YTZ, this is not directed at you, because I know that you know: Buying the Gripens requires the US to approve the sale, because the it contains US tech. How does that free us from the grip of the US? I do not know how to make this any clearer to the Gripen fanboys.
