    No more Regimental Shoulder Flashes

This could be a decision made by your cadet corps.  All Army Cadet corps have the option of wearing the "Royal Canadian Army Cadets" shoulder flash, any affiliated unit shoulder flashes must be ordered out of the corps budget (or at least this is my understanding).  We just got a whole bunch...

Is blackdown the only camp that does not issuse camp pin?

The only pin mentioned in the online CATOs is the Duke of Edinburghs Award pin, however the online dress regs are from 1997 so this policy may have changed on the print copies.

Is blackdown the only camp that does not issuse camp pin?

I have never seen any cadet from Valcartier, or Argonaut wearing a camp pin but I could be wrong.   I can see the merit in Rocky Mountain cadets getting the pin, but why Connaught?   The only advanced training done at Connaught is exchanges, bisley, and para, none of which have the cadets stay...

Is blackdown the only camp that does not issuse camp pin?

Thats what the badge is for, personally I don't think pins should be awarded simply for attending a National CSTC, I realize a course like L&C is difficult to get on ... but courses like Basic Marksman at Connaught don't even compare. The experience should mean more then a badge or pin.   Staff...

Is blackdown the only camp that does not issuse camp pin?

The Air Cadet Tech Course is national, as is P&D for Air and Sea Cadets (not Army Cadets).   There are several exchanges hosted at Blackdown ... but nothing to do with Juliet Company (the Germans typically go on the FTX with Juliet but thats about it).   So this being said Blackdown is not a...

Is blackdown the only camp that does not issuse camp pin?

I don't believe the Whitehorse pins are authorized for wear on the uniform, although I saw one person wearing theirs.

Do NOT purchase a drill cane from the Army Cadet League, if they're the drill canes I'm thinking of they have no weight to them and are more like a pimp cane.   The "Bearly" A cadet ... I won one 3 years ago at a draw my Regiments Kit Shop held, I've got it around somewhere .... don't really...

    CadetPat field uniform

CATO 13-07 STATUS - Cadet / Member of the Primary Reserve http://www.cadets.ca/_docs/cato-oaic/1307_b.pdf So it is possible, I would still say CADPAT is a no go though, because your not on a reserve activity .... unless you get approval from your reserve unit and cadet unit COs.

    CadetPat field uniform

Combats are an authorized uniform for cadets undergoing training at a Cadet Summer Training Centre.  This is why OD combats are issued to Army Cadets at all Army CSTCs in Canada. They are not an official uniform for Local Headquarters Training though.

You mean the Nov 12th bus tour with the recruiting det?   If so I was on that tour.

    A FAQ thread

This is where problems start .... I've had cadets that have tried to tell me I'm wrong because they used the CATO pictorical reference.   The pictorical references in the CATO are wrong ... how that could get by I'm not sure but they're very inaccurate with badge sizing and badge placement.  ...

    NSCE

The policy may have changed or may differ by region.  But I did my NSCE a few years ago when I was 15.

    Lexi got promoted!

Congrats on your first promotion ... I still remember the feeling of pride I had when I got my promotion to Trooper (Armoured term for Private).

    Where Has Cadets Taken You?

Cadets has taken me: CFB Borden/Blackdown CSTC/and a few other places on base (including a cold war bunker for NSCE) CFB Trenton, CFB Meaford, Connaught ACNSTC, NDHQ (Ottawa, ON), National Army Officers Mess (Ottawa, ON), RMC (Kingston, ON), ASU Toronto (various other armouries and places...

Good luck to you.  I am submitting my paperwork for RMC next week, just waiting on a reference.

    NSCE

No you don't.   I wrote the NSCE when I was 15 and a Sgt, I applied for exchange because I was turning 16 in June and I was accepted. I'm not sure where this 16 age prerequisite for NSCE comes from but its wrong, I had other candidates say I was too young to be there, but evidently I had no...

    Rank and Postion Conflict

In matters like that rank means very little ... if someone is appointed to do something its their responsibility to make sure it gets done.  Being a good leader also means being a good follower, you have to be able to observe other leaders at work, regardless of whether or not they're above you...

16 a hard age to get into camp? True of False?

He may have applied, I applied when I was 16 (but not as of Jan 1) ... but I also applied for course.

    NSCE Review Thread

Vacancies shouldn't necessarily mean promotions ... you can have any rank doing any job, (i.e. Sgt as RSM, or MCpl as CSM, etc).   Ranks should be awarded based on merit and qualifications, not based on "not having anyone left."   However this is just my opinion different corps do things...

    NSCE Review Thread

I'm hoping your not serious that passing your NSCE will not result in automatic promotion from MCpl to MWO. Anyways, for the written exam try to get a general knowledge of most of the RCAC Reference Book.   You don't necessarily have to read every page of the book, I basically skimmed through...
