Informing the Army’s Future Structure - CAMO Discussion

Training armoured vehicles have a way of becoming operational despite best efforts.

It reminds me we havent replaced a jet we procured in thr 1960s, 60 years later.

KA 50 isnt just light strike, it can sling aim 120s as well.

Informing the Army’s Future Structure - CAMO Discussion

9 Rocket is a weird one, one would note that RHA is an m270 regiment so wouldn't have been without precedent to call it 3 RCHA. Or use any other regimental name.

Informing the Army’s Future Structure - CAMO Discussion

Artillery lineage is more concerned with the battery than the regiment as a rule.

It's also, critically for the reserves, generally really cheap to train AD with sims.

Tactical Armoured Patrol Vehicle - RG-31, LAV Coyote, and (partial) G-Wagon Replacement

Yeah surprisingly ply wood "sustainables" are poor targets on bombing ranges and Range Control / Base aren't amenable to constantly refreshing single use targets, especially since the air craft have hard times picking them up. Especially when there is a target, however nominal, out there.

Tactical Armoured Patrol Vehicle - RG-31, LAV Coyote, and (partial) G-Wagon Replacement

I suppose I'm biased from spending so much time shooting at undefined hulks as instead of bespoke built targets the actual response is simply that we dont get new ones. We will get some MLVWs out on our bombing range in Shilo now as our targets are craters and the sustainables dont show up on...

Tactical Armoured Patrol Vehicle - RG-31, LAV Coyote, and (partial) G-Wagon Replacement

Well in my particular line of work theres value to seeing a similar target shape in a variety of istar platforms. Additionally afv targets simply last longer and the mothballed ones are destined to be scrapped anyways so its cost neutral frankly.

Oh course the M72, 84mm, and what ever other anti armour weapon ranges are otherwise pristine natural environments.

Leaked report shows basic training pass rate fell after military recruitment changes

I didnt see a net but rather a percentile increaze? Maybe I read the data wrong.

Leaked report shows basic training pass rate fell after military recruitment changes

Both can be true at the same time. We are getting record numbers of recruits while also dealing with these issues. The numbers passing out of St Jean can still be a positive despite these issues.

Have you figured out how many green pick ups you can buy per year yet?

At least their getting a lions share of ACSV to fill troop carrier and CP roles. TAPVs for SUAS and TSMs.

Queen Marrys but converted to tlav as I understand it.

The three or four TLAVs in 1 RCHA can't make it out of the parking lot but are still on the docket. An ATMG would at least allow a TAPV a fighting chance... I guess

Canada moves to 2% GDP end of FY25/26 - PMMC

Kamloops has access to multiple ski hills, great weather, a walkable street down town, non chain restaurants, and its a quick drive to the Okanagan. Brandon has an Applebee's and is a top 2 city in a top 10 province.

Ifs offset by being beside possibly the most mediocre town in Western Canada.

Shilo's great, its Brandon that's the problem.
