Parachutist wings from cadets on my PRes or RegF uniform

I don‘t think it‘s about keeping current, Franko. For the Army Cadets, it is their brass ring. Air Cadets have the flight scholarships, Sea Cadets their tall ships... Army Cadets get some great exchanges, and Para.

In CFAOs we trust ;) Thanks, East Side.

Can you show me reference on that? We just had a reserve officer attested that‘s a landed immigrant.

    Interview advice (merged)

It‘s a job interview. Remember that. You‘ve done the research into the CF and your MOC, so you know what they are looking for in an employee. The advantage your interviewer has is that they know how bad you want to work for them. ;) Wear a suit. Get a haircut. Mind your manners. And...

For all those beginning the enlistment process

Ed - start running. It‘ll help you on basic. And then get on the recumbent bike to build the cardio strength. Being in the CIC branch, we don‘t do the PT test when we enrol  , but if you can acheive your target heartrate and keep it without having a hernia, you should be fine.

Parachutist wings from cadets on my PRes or RegF uniform

I don‘t know about the 2Lt, but I know I sure haven‘t had the pleasure of accessing the DIN. Just CadetNet :(

For all those beginning the enlistment process

Running is not done at the CFRC. You run on Basic, if I‘m not mistaken. The step test evaluates your aerobic ability, and it is recommended that you train by running to build your aerobic level. The recruiters aren‘t there to rag you out. They run a job-fair, 365 days a year. Their job is...

Parachutist wings from cadets on my PRes or RegF uniform

Any Air Cadet that tells you they did the Para course is pulling your leg, unless for some reason they were an NCSE Army Cadet that did it, and switched elements - kind of unlikely, I‘d bet. As for Air CIC... stranger things have happened, but I‘m sure there is no shortage of deserving Army CIC...

Enhanced Reliability Check (ERC) - Merged

A credit check is run as part of your enhanced reliability clearance. If you have horrible credit, and a history of bankruptcy, or skipping town... it can affect your application.

    Why do you do it?

I thought the only reason I was born was to serve my nation? :cdn: That, and if they are going to let me fly, well, why not live the dream? -R

    Cadets

    1) I‘m a CIC Officer, I can write a memorandum. 2) In fact, I‘m a Officer in the CF Reserve, my MOC is 93A. That means it is my job, on Class A service, to facilitate the cadet program. 3) Cadets, don‘t forget, is a youth group. Unfortuantely, many cadets are forced into the program, and...

    Type 2 Nametapes

I‘m talking about the blue nametapes with gold lettering that are put on the work dress (postman blue) shirts and flying clothing. I took a look at Canadian Peacekeeper, but all I can find are combat tapes... -R

    ROTP - When is Basic?

Hey folks, The ROTP deadline is stated at 28 Feb 04. Would that mean that the BOTC be held that summer before classes start? Thanks! -R

Self Evaluation and Preparing for Fitness Test & Course.

The fitness test is actually a step aerobic test that measures your aerobic ability. The are looking for the equivelant of a 2.4km run. The recommendation I saw, however, said that being able to run 5km before you take the test (or go to Basic) is recommended :) Hedge your bets a bit...

Does anyone know where I can find Type 2 Nametapes for my work dress shirts and flying clothing? The system seems to take forever... ;) -R

Self Evaluation and Preparing for Fitness Test & Course.

So I went for a run today. Made it just over 2km before dropping to a walk (ugh). E-town, you are 100% bang-on - I can cycle far, but man my legs were yelling at me. Walked back for about 250m, and then a run again. Decided to go the back way up to my house - of course, I didn‘t take well to...

Enhanced Reliability Check (ERC) - Merged

Wow, I wish I could help you out with that. I could see CSIS taking that long. My advice would be to keep contact open with your CFRC contact, and maybe they can see what‘s going on with your file. Bureaucrats have a habit of forgetting things, unless they are periodically reminded ;) Good...

Self Evaluation and Preparing for Fitness Test & Course.

Sweet, thanks guys, appreciate it! I‘ll probably cycle everyday (until the dead frickin‘ cold of winter) as it‘s the best way for me to get to my civ job right now, and then run in the evenings at least three days a week. And I‘ll look into that gym membership :) Go RegF! :mg: (though...

Self Evaluation and Preparing for Fitness Test & Course.

Thanks much, Dire! I‘ve never been much of a runner - more of a cyclist. I‘m moving from outside Calgary to inside Calgary in two weeks, and will hopefully be cycling to work. Though, it would be a good time to put those new runners to a test :) -R
