During my DP1 Infantry course 5 years ago, there were a few things we didn't learn that a Reg.F DP1 course would do, such as Improvised weapons, Pugil Sticks, Carl Gustav, and absolutely 0 mounted operations. That stuff was all taught a a unit level. I'm curious, what else should be slashed...

Excellent point. I forgot about that. In laymans terms, the food sucks, hard. Every place I have ever been has had better food than Meaford. I understand that cooking for 1000+ is by no means an easy task, but the food in Wainwright, Borden, Trenton, etc is better by leaps and bounds.

One thing you will learn about the Army (if you join) is that nothing is certain. Another things is that "situation dictates"- basically, every situation is different. What happened for one person may be vastly different than what you are offered.

From what I understand, C4 requires a blasting cap for detonation, correct? A combination of heat and pressure that can not be generated by the force of a boot stomping on it? Correct me if i'm wrong! I meant the boot stomping as a joke :)

Consider me ignorant, but what is the issue with a DM firing 7.62mm x 51mm? They can be issued match grade ammo if required, or can use delinked C6 ammo in a pinch.

I used to just ball up some clothes, but I have to say, after having a pillow in the field, I will never go back  ;D
