I've seen people tie strips of white mine tape to the tac vest to break up the pattern during the winter; I've also seen people wear the winter cam cover as a cape, but this is more for hilarity than actual use.  ;D

What makes this history tidbit even better is that Inglis was a washing machine/sewing machine company. Who woulda thought?

They didn't mention having a choice; just got whatever was available at the time I guess....... That explains more to me... Yeah, that does make sense; what doesn't make sense is they wore the LBV overtop a protective vest (don't those carry plates??? or are they just frag vests?) cheers...

I talked to some of the guys from my unit that came back from the SandBox. Saw photos of others in letters that have a month or so left on-tour. Some wore the CADPAT AR "Jean-Jacket" vest; some wore the TW TV. As for the LBV, I read in another thread that these were created in a large quantity...

perhaps cost is the answer? A fluted barrel looks more complex to manufacture; thus more expensive......other than that, I don't see why fluting isn't incorporated in our barrels. Kev?
