    custom 64 packs

I've seen some of these five pocket ones. I have one which is just a stock 64 bag with an extra pouch sewn onto each side. No idea where I got it.  ;D Failing having a nice bag to start with, they're stupid easy to make. Get a POS rubberized-nylon one, cut'er up and reverse engineer: Use #69...

Air Force Temperate Combat Boot - Initial Issue

I heard a dirty little rumour that members of Army DEU who are entitled to Steel-Toe footwear may also be entitled to these new Air Force boots. The way it was explained to me had something to do with the Army not having an in-service safety boot with water-resistant vapour-permeable liner...

User Reviews for Lowa Seeker GTX Combat Boots

G2G, are you moonlighting as a 5.11 sales rep?  ;D Not trying to rain on anyone's parade... but FWIW, two guys I have spoken to who wear 5.11 Desert HRT's both had their soles peel off around the front of the boot. IMO, after looking at the peeling (around the entire toe of the boots all the...

User Reviews for Lowa Seeker GTX Combat Boots

Mine are a good fit at .5 of a size higher ( I normally wear 11, and these are 11.5 ) They're European sizes, but they do have their "US equivalent" printed on the label.

User Reviews for Lowa Seeker GTX Combat Boots

I have a pair of the Lowa "The Seeker" Desert PT combat boots. (not the GTX ones) The quality is fantastic, and they have a pretty comfy sole. The heel is also very comfortable, and gives me none of the problems that some fancy new "mondopoint" boots give me. I, however, find that they run...

Hk21A1 - the SAW with some class...

Well I guess I was a little confused. In conjunction with the term "Box" being a little vague, when I saw the magwell on the Hk21E, I must have assumed it could take both, similar to the C9. So it'll shoot belt fed, or mag-fed, but not both. Correct?

Hk21A1 - the SAW with some class...

Box Magazines generally refer to a type of mag similar in type to that of a C7 Mag. I understand the confusion though. Read the para's on "Box" and "Belt". This may clarify things a little. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magazine_%28firearms%29 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Belt_%28firearm%29

    TFA IMPACT STATEMENT

Gunner, beat me to most of it... Hmm... sounds like you're from Ottawa  ;D Impact statment... I'm sure I'm not the only one wondering, but what would the statement be pertaining to? Impact on your unit, should they lose you to a deployment for an extended period of time, or impact on your...

Yes, it accepts standard mags, but according to I-6, it is ill advised. Voila

Troops carrying pistols outside the gate

The old mags were definately an issue, but I have used brand spanking new, shiny DND issue BHP mags on two or three occasions in the last year. (Both in Edmonton and Ottawa) The CF must have bought more. If your unit only has old crappy mags, they should start squashing a batch and requisition...

TCCC Shoulder Bag aka The Med Murse

Well the functionality of the zipper would not be affected by installing it upside down, so why not? Aesthetically, it does looks better. (you could also argue that helps reduce glint from the sun  ;D ) Either way, great looking bag.

TCCC Shoulder Bag aka The Med Murse

ooo! Follow-up question... (mostly directed at Derek again). Them zippers look like they're sewn on upside-down (or inside-out). I normally see that with "water-resistant" zipper, but the zipper on this pouch is not water resistant. Any specific reason this was done, or was it just for a...

TCCC Shoulder Bag aka The Med Murse

That is one slick looking bag. I like the concept of this med bag. As you said, you can swing it behind your back, keep it on the side, or move it in front while in use. While I am not TCCC, having handled the issued Dropleg pouches quite a bit, I feel that if I had to wear one, I would likely...

    Directions to Uplands air terminal?

Is it a military flight (a-la-Airbus), chartered, or just a regular flight? I'm just throwing it out there, but if it is a military service flight (or perhaps even chartered), they may not be going through the Ottawa International Airport, but rather one of the last hangers that DND still...

Anybody Have A US GI double strap type II duffel bag

I have one of these bags also, supply let me retain it. WRT the seams on the inside, the sides of the bag are sewn in pretty much the same fashion that the legs on your jeans are sewn. The top and bottom of the bag, however, are not finished well at all. There is two rows of stitching, but...
