Not quite. The GGFG takes precedence over all militia regiments, but all regular regiments take precedence over it. See A-AD-200-000/AG-000
INFANTRY REGIMENTS
4. Order of precedence for infantry regiments is as follows (an asterisk* indicates both Regular and Reserve Force components):
a...
FOA is dealt the same way as your pay. You only get taxed once on income. The tax total on your T4 is the total of all the tax deducted from your pay during the year as noted on your pay stubs for each of the 24 pays in the year. $200 out of $800? I don't think Canada has reached at 75%...
I did a year and a half in the program eight years ago (had to quit for non-military career-related reasons - the eternal give-and-take of a reservist) and thoroughly enjoyed myself. In Ottawa, the classes were run at NDHQ after normal working hours - sort of 1600-1800 once a week, with RMC...
Ummm - and when has the navel-gazing, self-satisfied voting public ever given a damn about dead African kids, outside the rock events like Live-Aid that is? Our foreign aid levels are scandalously low for a wealthy country like Canada, and yet there is absolutely no constituency for raising...
I'll just add one large bottleneck to your listing - Public Works and Government Services Canada who do the actual contracting and procurement for the CF. Having dealt with their procurement system on numerous occasions for small (less than $1million) projects, I've experienced the time that...
Gentlemen, I am the individual who designed and implemented the RFRG when I was working at NDHQ/DPSP. The RFRG is considered a severance payment under tax rules, not a pension payment even though some of the brass marketed this benefit as a "pension replacement". As a severance payment, there...
There was a time, in the mid to late 80s where the infantry was short of NCOs, both jr & snr. When I was a platoon leader with 2R22eR, out of my 4 mcpls, 2 had been accelerated after doing ISCC as ptes. My plt 2i/c was a sgt and I had one, count him - one cpl in a 40 strong plt. Most of...
Good. Now maybe we can collapse the NHL and start a proper hockey league without pouty multimillionaire players, teams in places where hockey is a no go (Tampa, Phoenix, etc) and the rest of the crap. Pro hockey in Canada should be organised along CFL lines.
That doesn't sound right to me at all. We qual'd every trooper in the unit on MILCOTS the moment we got the charming things delivered last fall, including, I believe those that came off QL3 last summer (they would not have held 404s for a year+)
I don't see anything wrong with your plan. I've known many a soldier who trained in that or a similar way. At one point when I was younger and my knees better able to take it, I'd do some of my regular jogging in civvy PT gear & combat boots.
Good Lord - is this guy for real? Judging by his emotional maturity and depth of intellect, he did the US Army a favour by deserting. I'd wager a lifetime of bitterness whilst pushing a broom at Wal-Mart is already a pretty good level of punishment for the little twerp. >:D
The punishment should fit the crime - hmm, gotta love Gilbert & Sullivan. The Mikado was probably the best of their repertoire. The problem I have is that the punishment in this country rarely fits the crime. Granted, blowing some dumb fuck away with a 12 guage because he wanted to steal &...
Until you've done your SQ, you won't be able to go out in the field - period. If the summer offering of BMQ isn't followed immediately by the SQ, your time between summer 05 and summer 06 is going to be long and boring at the Armoury. At least doing the BMQ on weekends between Oct-Jun, you'll...
Look at it this way - the Regiment will always be there when you get back from Whitehorse and all you'll be is a little behind your self-imposed schedule. If you go to BMQ this summer, Whitehorse will not be there waiting for afterwards - the chance to go there as staff will be gone foreever.
