    Off Grid Homesteading

Hard to keep people from using your land even if it is private. Depending on where your located it can be a real nightmare as there are plenty of people who don’t care that it’s your private property and know you can’t really do that much about it.

Canada moves to 2% GDP end of FY25/26 - PMMC

Meh PRs and lack of CFATs aren’t the issue. The fact we think we need to pass 100% of recruits is. I am all for a heavy culling during recruit training for unsuitable candidates, we do a disservice by pushing to pass everyone even when it is obvious they don’t belong. Most jobs have a 3-6...

The Great Gun Control Debate- 2.0

The ‘and property used to provide child care for which a licence is required under the Community Care and Assisted Living Act’ part is a large red flag for me. Doing a very quick google search anyone running a home daycare with more than two kids not your own needs to be a part of that. So if...

All Things First Nations - CF help, protests, solutions, residential schools, etc. (merged)

I wonder if eventually we will get enough angry people to blockade some Reserves. No supplies in or out for a month might make them reconsider their preferred method of causing havoc to others.

    Iran Super Thread- Merged

We say that now, but I don’t buy that. After the crisis is over people forget very quickly when convience comes back. Look at our supply chains, after Covid you think we would have learned about trying to keep most of it in house or having stock on hand. But it isn’t as cheap or convenient as...

CAF MP SUES DND AND SIG SAUER

Civvy side I am a revolver guy. A DA/SA with a semi is the closest to what I am comfortable with. I consider DA as a safety over simple SA. Either way, I don’t have a dog in the fight anymore. Glock seems to be a better choice which was avoided intentionally.

CAF MP SUES DND AND SIG SAUER

True, but without any safety you also run risks and still require a bunch of training to be both effective and safe with the pistol. Those same coppers who would struggle shooting with a DA/SA for a service pistol would also carry extra risk of NDs with a pistol with no safety. Generally with...

    Iran Super Thread- Merged

And foreign countries applying pressure. And the risk of countries dumping US bonds driving up interest rates killing their economy. And US manufacturing needing aluminum. Etc. It is actually quite impressive how much economic leverage is able to be applied by Iran, likely the largest reason...

    Liberal (Minority/Majority) Government 2025 - ???

He lost because his constituents decided they didn’t want him representing them. Maybe it was the fact he supported the trucker convoy in a area direct affected by them. We shall never know the exact reason why.

Seniors Benefits Discussion- split from Liberal (Minority/Majority) Government 2025 - ???

Small point, you’re not sacrificing freedom and stability, you’re being fairly compensated for it.

CAF MP SUES DND AND SIG SAUER

I like DA/SA systems if that is the path taken. It greatly reduces risk without losing much of anything. Even a token safety like the Glock trigger safety seems better than absolutely none at all.

CAF MP SUES DND AND SIG SAUER

Sounds like a pretty crappy pistol to have adopted if it must be placed in a very specific holster to be safe. Please correct me if I am wrong but the pistol doesn’t even seem to have a safety of any sort on it?

    British Military Current Events

Considering Hawaii had it's own internationally recognized government (including by the US) and was a completely sovereign nation with clearly defined borders and was only annexed in 1898 (with the coup leading up to it considered illegal even by the US president of the era), it is a excellent...

    British Military Current Events

Personally I think they should give back Hawaii if thats their stance. Whats good for the goose is good for the gander. I wouldn’t be surprised if Argentina is funnelling money to Trump and his cronies. Same type situation as Hungary, very odd stance for the US to take but they have been...

    Liberal (Minority/Majority) Government 2025 - ???

Some of them. Some of them were appointed after the LPC no longer allowed senate members to be LPC, but they all still vote that way. Lots of ways to do senate reform, the question is whether the juice is worth the squeeze.

    Police Folk Allegedly Behaving Badly

Shouldn’t even necessarily need a conviction for the firing. With the amount of trust placed in police officers by the public the process to get fired should be a relatively low bar to hit. It should not be easier to get fired from McDonalds than the police.

    Liberal (Minority/Majority) Government 2025 - ???

You mean the ‘independents’ who vote Liberal on every topic? I wouldn’t say it is better than the previous system, I would say it is side by side with it.

CAN-USA Tariff Strife (split from various pol threads)

Remember it isn’t a liquor ban, it is certain provinces alcohol monopolies just not buying American liquor, a distinct difference. Seeing as many of my coworkers and friends have lost their jobs and my job was put at risk, directly due to Americas games with steel tariffs, I am not exactly in...

Canada moves to 2% GDP end of FY25/26 - PMMC

I am of the opinion that sometimes preferences doesn’t actually equal what is best. Sometimes forced interactions (especially for the modern generation who has less siblings and social interactions to begin with) is beneficial. Considering your going to be spending a lot of time being in very...
