    Alternate for the CIC

Then Mr Hoult, due to the fact that most Officers of the CIC learn thier job from OJT, would you advocate an few years as an officer cadet taking crses and learning as an apprentice TrgO or AdminO, before they qualify for thier commission. They do not need the commission to supervise cadets and...

    Alternate for the CIC

Earlier on in this post Caz said that the ties to the CF are the justification for having CIC officers remain in the CF. I can buy that one...But many of you are stating that because the job is different, raising the standards would be pointless (for the Cadets at least). Maybe taking the CIC...

    Airborne Artillery

F Bty, 2 RCHA supports 3 RCR with an airmobile capability. G31 is the Jump OP, for Para Coy. While the other 2(if the manning is there)are airmobile and support November and Oscar Coys. In Canada, G31 is not in maroon berets. However, during the last Bosnia Roto the 3RCR did, the Jump OP was in...

Parachutist wings from cadets on my PRes or RegF uniform

Yes, Jason you are probably correct, you can spot them even if they are not wearing thier wings... they are the guys with the bad back and bad knees

Past CIC Sea Cadet Officers Charged

Only problem is the criminal background check only confirms whether a person had been convicted of a crime.

    I forgot the Artillery names

Kitch, Did you just come from 119 or 129?

    Company Guidons

Thanks BuzzLiteyear, very informative sites... So, combined with the absence of any information in my research of the subject, I guess this a completely false urban legend.

Garter Crest-Should It be Our Hatbadge?

Didn‘t mean to anger anyone with my last post, I started explaining my position... the whole "Regs never see the best of the reserves" When I was interupted by my in-location reservists, and I vented toward the end of my post. I think we can safely put this tread to rest.

    Alternate for the CIC

Caz, I saw on your profile that you were a CI prior to joining the CIC, was that for any other purpose other than the time it takes to get enrolled?

    Alternate for the CIC

Caz, Alright I can follow that - closer ties to the CF. That‘s a good enough answer for me.

    Alternate for the CIC

I did not realize the frustrations felt as a CIs... Having never been one, except for a month before enrolling in the CIL. Caz, well put, CIC problems are in a "catch .22" situation... Many people had stated that they need to be CF commissioned officers but no one has given me a good reason...

Garter Crest-Should It be Our Hatbadge?

Muskrat, In my opinion, your 100% correct. There are some exceptional people in the reserves, these professional soldiers are (90% of them) also professional civilians. Most professionals cannot take off months at a time to work on a call out, what is usually visible to the regs are the...

Garter Crest-Should It be Our Hatbadge?

Sorry, muskrat.... it‘s ok, I know a bunch of Toons,er..MOs... er reserves, and they were really very nice. But seriously, the same people who want us to give up any regimental identity (in whatever form), believe that there is no different between the reg and reserves, they are not, which I‘m...

    Alternate for the CIC

Wayne, they used to write a waiver for those who did not meet the medical standards but would still be effective. This was for exceptional situations, and I believe that you would be well served attempting to join the CIC, possibly a waiver could be obtained (I don‘t know if the exist, since...

    Company Guidons

Franko, Here is the info...With unification all regimental accotriments were banned. The Artillery never fought to have the lanyard returned, the RCR simply restarted wearing thiers. There is no 100 years of shame attributed to the Canadian Artillery, at Leliefontein the guns were held in...

Garter Crest-Should It be Our Hatbadge?

Ah, Bruce we can dream... cause soon with we will all be wearing a cornflake and be apart of 2 Artillery Battalion... in the magical world where reserves and regs are equal.

    MOBAT

The Dutch are converting the M109 Regt to PzH 2000 and they are getting rid of the MLRS units that they have. Will the NL be fielding this platform in the near future, or have they already?

Changes, needed fixes in Cadets (merged)

True Canadian, who exactly sounds like a soccer mom. Because I certainly don‘t think Primer and Franko discussing a fair system of advancement in thier cadet corps, would equate to "soccer moms"

    Alternate for the CIC

AirCon, You do not have to be a CIC to take a very active role in the the Cadet movement, civilian instructors are a huge asset to any corps. This is the location for those who want to commit some time and work with cadets, but cannot or do not want to take on the responsibilties of putting...
