Do I have to be good at math to be a pilot?

Honestly, if you can't do High School math, you'll have trouble getting the required scores on the CFAT to even pass step#1. On the other hand (and the good news), is that with hard work and patience it is something that can be fixed. Those sites posted a few messages up are great. I plan on...

What's the dumbest thing you heard said today?

Colorado Batman shooting shows obvious signs of being staged By Mike Adams, Natural News. Article Link ...There is already conjecture that James Holmes may have been involved in mind-altering neuroscience research and ended up becoming involved at a depth he never anticipated. His actions...

    Operator Ugly Fitness Test

Test seems to be based a lot on moving fairly decent weight as quick as possible... I can see more than a few backs being thrown out.

Air Combat Systems Officer ( ACSO )

Correct. In fact, we were given specific orders NOT to attempt to do anything more than orbit till gas is gone. On the other hand.. you will get some stick time if the pilot so wishes.

    Its all Greek to Quebec

I also question how Quebec's aerospace and ship building industries would survive... its not like they could whine and moan to Canada then.

Am I too old, fat, or fit in? 2001 to 2016

Everything would be best sent to a recruiting officer, but; 1. No, not at all. You were honourably discharged. 2. No, not at all. A few extra blocks on the application will need to be filled out but that's about it. 3. Contact the recruiting center, they're the only ones with that kind of...

DEO Pay Scale, Promotion = Pay Decrease?

You'll never see a pay-cut. On a promotion you'll move the Lt category that's closest to your current pay, and start from there.

    Fighter Pilot

My apologies to Max on the thread hickjack, but as one of those "navs" (we prefer the term EWO, heh), I can help. Our official role is to provide real-world threat simulation to CF assets, be it air, land or sea. Most of our job is threat replication (be it various aircraft for the Air...

    CFIRP 09/CANFORGEN Debate/Debacle

After spending most of the night going through the various rules and regs regarding this, I have come to the conclusion that it's better to accept that I was not entitled to a IRP and try and reclaim everything through a CBI209 move. Pusser, you seem rather up to snuff on this stuff, I read a...

    CFIRP 09/CANFORGEN Debate/Debacle

The letter is not from Brookfield, it's from DRBM after a "random review" of my file. The issue is due to the fact of the flip-flopping and confusion of my actual entitlements for the move. Most of the monies owed are due to various things not covered by the OR-type move (according to DRBM...

    CFIRP 09/CANFORGEN Debate/Debacle

Being in a pretty pickle, I'm seeking some clarification and possibly some guidance. Long story short, being told I was not entitled to an IRP move after the fact, thus, being told I'm required to repay everything. "CFIRP 2009 - Clarification Bulletin 4 - 1 APR 09 The limitation contained in...

Practice high school math, be familiar with how lat/longs work (base 60), familiarity with basic aircraft instruments and how to read them, and how to look up information in tables quickly. That's all I can think of, it's not a hard test by any means, but it's not easy either. Any other...

    Incentive revoked

Unfortunately, unless you have something in writing, you're likely not going to get anywhere. But, if you feel a grievance is warranted (and IMHO, it is), I'm a firm believer that you should at least present the issue, it may signify an ongoing issue and/or possibly help someone behind you who...

CF 100 : Leave Pass [Merged]

I've had leave passes done at local Post Offices without issue. It's essentially a stamp they have that had their own "code" (ie. branch number) and the actual city/town/whatever written underneath, this with a quick signature is all you need.
