Been sorting through stuff in my basement and came across this brassard. It was my Grandfather's so Great War or later vintage. I'm guessing Second World War as he had a series of staff jobs during that one. Any help identifying it would be much appreciated.

Great book, read it earlier this year. He really seemed to be the central figure among the hostages. I was struck by how little, if any, training seemed to go into preparing him for the job, even though he was armed. RIP.
