That has entertainment value written all over it…

It is a thing. A beautiful, beautiful thing.

    CH-148 Cyclone Progress

Ok, fair enough, but how much complexity do you want to introduce to this thread? The MND is primarily, functionally where the buck stops for military aviation in Canada, including contracted air services. I recognize it is more nuanced than that, but it answers the basic question of why “C”...

    2026 Wildfire Season

The way it was explained to me, they feel like they were burned on the Tracker file in 1990s. TC does not like how the military tracks parts or documents maintenance. I don’t think we do it “wrong”, just differently than industry. Finally, (and this is just my opinion) there is probably...

    2026 Wildfire Season

I can just see the headlines: “Canada forced to make choice between allocating federal water bombers to either Quebec or Alberta fires. Both Provincial Premiers take news well…” This is why there is no federal fleet of water bombers. Nor will there ever be.

    CH-148 Cyclone Progress

Sure. You and Rotormaxx and a few others can keep arguing that to the Minister of Transport. So far, there has been no change in policy since (checks calendar) 2019.

The A jets are canadian registered. When Top Aces has a contract with DND to provide aerial services to the CAF, guess who the airworthiness authority is. Not Transport Canada.

    CH-148 Cyclone Progress

It is not about what Coulson (or VIH or Rotormaxx) can “figure out”. It is about what Transport Canada will issue a type certificate for. They have been very clear that they will never again type certify an ex-military aircraft in Canada.

    CH-148 Cyclone Progress

Incorrect. It flew once on an experimental certificate. It is not certified for commercial use in Canada.

That is a VIH bird by the looks of it. An S-92. Civil registered. Ours are H-92s, of which only 27 are in existence worldwide. The folding tail and blades makes them unique and they will never, ever be granted TC certification.

U.S. DoW Health Initiatives (Flu vax policy, testosterone, etc.)

We are short of medical professionals. Some of this is structural. We downsized the medical services radically in the 1990s without much thought to the implications. Some of it appears to procedural. We have alot of medical professionals riding desks in Ottawa, not seeing patients.

Funding Canadian Media and its affect on Objectivity

I am not sure I have a direct opinion, but: Jenn Gerson and Matt Gurney say they both refuse to take government subsidies to avoid the appearance of bias. That must mean something.
