With your qualifications and experience it would make sense that you would not have to do BMQ. Good lawd I hope the CF would not have an issue with granting you a bypass for BMQ.

Speaking of boots. Has anyone found a good pair of brown leather boots yet? I was going to buy Lowa Mountains in brown but they’re all sold out. Any other suggestions? TIA

Not acceptable. The police enforce the nation's laws but they effectively can not consume cannabis which will be legal. Under most circumstances military members will be able to partake why not police?
Interesting. I know individual who was REG force and PRes. Released as a MCpl and had to do BMQ after being out for 15 years. As someone who did basic in the early 90’s and recently instructed on a BMQ almost nothing has changed. Certainly no need for an individual to redo the whole course...
Concur. Brought my fancy Apple Watch on ex in Wainwright this past summer and almost destroyed it. Plus nowhere to plug it in the field. Now back to the Ironman I bought in the 90’s.

Agreed. Although Cornwallis in the 80's sure felt like Full Metal Jacket in some ways. But hey, my father went through basic in the 50's.

Highly recommend 5.11 Rush 72 hr pack. Great piece of kit. Carries extra uniform, boots, pt gear and more in garrison and it's what I use for exercises that are 3 days or less.
