Welcome to Army.ca. The policy of the CCM (Canadian Cadet Movement) is to report problems of a personal nature to an officer and allow them to deal with it the best they can. This method will often include calling in the parent or guardian of the cadet. The proper authorities will also be...
Does anyone know which kilt the CIC (Army) would wear when parading in Highland kit?? As members of the military and not of the cadets corps affiliated unit, I can't see them wearing the same as their cadets. Please help if you can. Thanks.

When I was a cadet, the position where I felt that I did the most for my peers was Plt WO. My cadets were called on a regular basis and I know that they felt like a team. How do I know??? Because I asked them! Communication is the key to good unity. Cheers. Remember all you CWO/RSM...
Well written response. You are a true professional. Others can learn from your willingness to explain your side and still remain thoughtful and logical.

I have worn my poppy on my tunic and will keep it there. I think that regardless of where it is placed, it still means the same thing. We will remember them. I do agree that the loss of tradition is a sad thing. If it's a matter of tradition then it needs to be addressed to a higher power. ...
Congrats. Your appointment to the flag party should be taken seriously. You are an example to all of the other cadets in your unit regardless of your rank. They will all look to you to see how drill and dress should look. You should be proud to carry the flag of your country or unit, or...
When I was a cadet I went to Ipperwash, Petawawa, CFB Downsview and other local training locations. Now that I'm an officer I have spent time at most of those locations as well as CFB Borden and Kingston.
Cadets is a great programme that works only because the cadets are willing to keep it...
Congrats. You are aware, that promotion to the rank of WO shows that you officers and senior cadets feel that you are a hard worker and that you show further leadership potential. It also means there may still be more promotions in your future. Good luck to you and keep up the hard work. ...
Actually I think you got it backwards. White for operational and red for qualified B Para. Feel free to disagree. Cadets wear only the red leaf wings.

An excellent way to remember our troops and show our patriotism. Kudos to Mike and the entire staff for a well run site.

Update.... Looks like after the Commanding Officers conference last weekend the new training schedule should begin in the next year or so. Along with a PT standard tested on a regular basis, an MOC trade number is to be given to the CIC. The CO also told me that the old CIC courses taught at...
Although I didn't know either of these men, the fondness with which you remember them allows me to understand and share your grief.

You both understand what it is to be not only a good officer (dglad) , but also a soldier that knows what a good officer is.

I feel all those who have commented thus far have made excellent points. I only want to add one thing. I think it's important to always remember that no matter what rank you are, if you don't DESERVE the respect then you likely wont get it. Granted I don't work with troops as I'm a CIC...
HERO=BAD
BEAVER=GOOD
I read in a previous post about the guy at Hero's saying "hey chief" and such. I never really thought about it but yeah it was really annoying!!

Primer, which one are you looking for. I have some of the service hat badges for all three cadet branches. Let me know and I'll see if I have what you need.

Hello ParaMoe,
I was in Ipperwash from 88-90. CL(Charlie), and CLI(Alpha). I was also at Petawawa in 91 for WLC (4 Patrol). The following year I stayed home and in 92 I was staff at Ipperwash for the last year they were open. I was with Rifle Coach. By your post I may have been staff when...
