Considering we here felt the worst of it, I would say they are milnews. My wife complained that a coffee tin fell off the fridge, but that`s it ;D The cat was a bit like "WTF???" though... apparently.
Yeah, the oft-used acronym is MICE - money, ideology, conscience, ego. Also OWDU, THink about the german americans and/or canadians during WWII. Some of them had been here a LONG TIME... yet that didn't stop SOME of them from helping out nazi Germany. Even though they were of european descent...
What is also interesting is
1. The timing of this release, G8 and all.
2. The very fact that it was authorized in the first place... clearly not an independant decision.
I wonder what gain the political masters saw in this announcement.
Ah ah! How friggin true... after months and years of waiting and snail pace admin, you will suddenly find yourself propelled in a world of "do this do that then this then that you got 2 minutes go". >:D
DesertFox, one of my good friends did exactly that 5 years ago, had to show up once a week at the Sqn, paid full salary and attended university full time. He began flight training pretty much straight after his graduation, on top of that.

Could it be that said Captain had joined a bit later? I can see that an increasing number of folks are joining mid to late 20's rather than at 20 (that's my case in fact) and therefore do not enter the EPZ to Major before 35. In fact, I think that with increasing education levels, people...
Well CSIS is now an overall SI business covering terrorism and foreign intelligence, thereby Canadian SECURITY Intelligence Service, but yeah, initially it was simply taking over from RCMP who was mainly focused on CI. I fully support your 90% though ;D
Olga:
All good, I see your point now. The only thing I would say, however, is that in the US DIA produced an analysis in support of WMD's in Irak, which was not supported by CIA. I guess both should have balanced each other. The real culprits however, and that ties in to your posts, appear to...
I'll address the rest later. WoW! Just WOW! Your "DND civilian washed intelligence" comment is demeaning and shows you don`t know much about it really. Contrary to you, I work with those people and see that most teams are mixed, well integrated, and perform very well. Unlike other areas of the...
