I had one on my C-8/M203, it worked great in close contact, quick target acquisition and no worries about proper eye relief, just a nice big window like I-6 mentioned though, overlap was huge in the section, Timmie favors mouseholes and firing from receded areas ( he learns fast ) so scopes...

the Brits had also just opened their own store as we were leaving- they'd said they'd be getting some of their gear in as well, dunno if that's the case or not though Americans on the base are pretty easy to trade or buy gear off of as well, if you can make a few contacts

I guess im in the minority that feels emulating the Americans isnt a terribly bad thing to do, especially when it comes to running a military- they dont just 'hand out' medals on a whim, although you are correct that alot of Canadians who've recieved the bronze star either put in for it...

good point zipperhead- atleast  1 of our Tic's was against druglord fighters, big numbers and well armed, and busted 15 million in black tar herion once they'd been wiped out they are all in it together especially as zipperhead mentioned, when the opportunity rises to combine efforts

the comment about the TB disposing of their dead quickly is very true-they will stay and fight and lose more men just to retrieve bodies (  i guess we do that also ) we've seen them prepare bodies for burial within minutes of a battle

you can find various types of *InGenius and *Smartsock brand socks at lots of stores also, they do basically the same thing with one layer

there is a fairly heavy 'anti combat medal' feeling in this thread, not sure where it stems from, as for the exclusivity that would be created, heaven forbid someone in our military be recognized for doing something more then someone else did, what are folks going to do when the other medals...

to further the whole team thing, our team outside the wire consisted of all cbt arms as well as several support trades, in the tic on aug 3rd mechanics were recovering 2 ied'd vehicles under contact while we fought within close proximity, as did medics and some other trades-they were cool calm...

to the best of my knowledge all of our fallen were taken care of by the Americans, during rehershals for our ramp ceremony for the aug 3rd action i asked one of the morturary personnel how he chose the job he explained it was kind of a temp posting within the larger unit (clothing stores etc )...

perhaps more trade specific? instead of showing 5 seconds of one slice, maybe 30s towards navy/air/army on their own?
